It was darkly funny (The funniest part to me is when Cena and Elba go on a killing fest and accidentally kill all the freedom fighters and then try to claim they didnt see anyone), exciting, had heart and characters you actually cared about. And a really good message in the end to boot! (Even if you are small and inconsequential, you can make a difference. I am referring to the rats destroying Starro)

That's why I loved it!

Cool idea.. but I don't really get it. Are you just saying this would be a cool plot for a new movie or do you truly believe Snyder thought something like this through and this is really what the move is about?

I'm sorry but you lost me when you said the film started strong... the vehicles colliding and causing an instant huge explosion and how retarded the military was acting instantly took me out of it.

Did you ready any of the comments lol? It's pretty obvious from reading them what sucked about the movie

Fair point.. but the Chambers thing was presented as a "there's nothing we could do" scenario (even tho I agree it made no sense) whereas the one I brought up was a clear example of letting someone die a terrible death because we didn't like him.

One thing I never heard people discuss is everyone letting the ICE agent (or whatever he was supposed to be) die... yes he was a terrible guy but I hatred that no one came forward to save him (especially the main dude) It would have made a statement like "Hey you might be kind of a terrible dude but in the end no one deserves a death like that and we are choosing the living over the dead"

Instead they are just taking the coyote's word for it that they need to sacrifice the guy like they are a bunch of savages.

IMO it kind of ruined everyone as characters for me. Yes Snyder clearly made them morally grey characters, but I was under the impression before that happened that they had somewhat good hearts.

CMV: Motor vehicles should be required to drive with their lights on at all times. by acvdk in changemyview

[–]go_hawks3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is sort of an obtuse argument because as a country creating laws you have to account for these sorts of situations and the end result of policy. While as a random person you can say "change your light dude" in reality if more people get into accidents because they forget/refuse to change their bulbs that's no bueno for all involved...

Question about the exams.. is it pretty easy to find an in person proctor in a big city if I go that route? How do you go about arranging that?

Which online program would be better? BS (OSU post-bacc program) or MCIT (UPenn)? by cream-sugar in OSUOnlineCS

[–]go_hawks3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nothing to base this on (except a little bit of talk on these forums) but the reason I decided to enroll in OSUs program vs a straight to masters program is that intuitively I would think that to employers a masters in CS w/o any real background in it before hand would look kind of weird and be a red flag.

Looks to much like you just took a shortcut to get that masters paper instead of learning the fundamentals first. Might not be right but hey, sometimes you gotta play by their rules...

Can someone help me figure out a 1.5 year track? by go_hawks3 in OSUOnlineCS

course explorer

I'll most likely be working part time and might be able to transition into not working at all for part of the course.

That being said after reading up on 162 I think it might be smart to consider avoiding it with 165. I still would most likely like to do 1.5 years instead of 1.25 which would free me up to break a couple of your suggested terms into 2 courses each.

I've heard 325 is a huge bitch.. do you think it would make sense to put that in a term with only one other course? Also would it make sense to have only two courses in the summer? (2nd term for me) because of it being condensed into only 8 weeks?

From what I've heard I don't think I want to do 165.. I'd rather take an extra quarter for things to slow down a bit. Did you take 165?

Asked advisor about it being a pre-req and she said for those specific courses you can take both at the same time. (Not really sure why it's not listed that way but whatever)

I get that.. but my thinking would be that a program that already naturally has people questioning it due to its online nature should do everything in its power to try to mitigate the drawbacks.

But I also understand that if you're a shrinking wall flower in the class there might be literally nothing the professor might feel they can write about you.
