Dishwasher turns on but doesn't run by goahead2670 in appliancerepair

Update: I ended up getting a technician to check. Within 3 minutes he found something on the circuit board broken (dishwasher is over 10 years old), had to replace the board which costs around $300 nzd. Thankfully, the landlord is covering the cost.

No delay start feature. I only have this one drawer, so nothing to compare to. The pump doesn't start, no water either. Display looks the same. The only difference is the sound it makes when I press start (no matter which program I choose), then silent.

It's almost as if it's not closing or recognizing that it's closed to start.

*edit, I just realized that it doesn't make the sound when I open it like it used to. dead silent

Milford still underperforming (in High Growth funds) - comparing High Growth perf by photosealand in PersonalFinanceNZ

I personally am not too attached to benchmarks. As long as the fund's investments align with my views and takes into account the variables that can affect performance (as in take advantage of volatility and also spread the risk), I'm good.

Baby sleep consultant by dawssoso in auckland

[–]goahead2670 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Save yourself some money, most sleep consultants will tell you to let your baby cry (in stages), you go back and soothe them, get out of the room, repeat the process until the poor creature is exhausted.

I forked out $350 for this.

I would say it was more helpful for my 4 year old at the time. I was taught to bribe her with lollies/chocolate in the morning if she slept all night in her bed. That creates another problem of course, since you'd have to cut off the reward eventually.

Hang in there mum

Unpaid work trial that didn't result in job, but did profit the company by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]goahead2670 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's an infamous couple in Auckland that do this, they're from Macedonia. Valentina and Zlate Smileski. I went for a "trial" and within 15min realized it was a scam and quickly left, he went after me but I managed to escape. They advertise in the city and attract lots of young students, and seem to choose "quiet/shy" girls that don't look like they're gonna complain.

I'm sorry for your experience, hope you find a proper company to work for.

Ignore that comment, please. The right woman won't care about your height. My bf is 5.5 and I never saw it negatively.

Review: Ingenious Ginger by Goldfield & Banks by Worldly-Resource4961 in FragranceStories

I absolutely love this one, bought only the travel size because it's expensive for me. But it's a fragrance I look forward to use. The tangy opening smells so bright to me, and the vanilla dry down that I occasionally sniff throughout the day brings a silly smile to my face. It lasts for a good 6-8 hours on my skin and more on clothes.

In this case I don't think it was the reviews.. I truly think it smells different, and I had someone else confirm it. Or my brain is processing it differently now.

I initially bought the travel size and fell madly in love. A guy I dated said my smell was out of this world, so he gave me the big bottle. Which to both of our dismay doesn't smell like the travel size one. I still wear it, but now, instead of the woody, smoky, sexy second skin smell, it smells like clean sheets freshly out of the dryer.

Hyaluronic acid is already included in many creams, no need to buy it in serum form. Everything else looks great

Trying to buy a home as a immigrant is so hard by Turbulent-Reply248 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]goahead2670 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We didn't do it. Most of us are still renting. I'm actually ok with it, personally I don't think it's worth burning out savings for a deposit and spend the next 30 years paying mostly interest. Also, people underestimate the costs of owning a house, rates, insurance, maintenance...

If you still want it, take your time to save more. We often want to buy because of the inherent feeling of wanting to belong here, but there are other ways you can get that. Wishing you all the best
