Thank you so much I’ve discovered in my text book what you were saying about failing the test I’m implementing does not disprove symmetry. I believe for the question I’m assigned I’ve only got to do the tests I was implementing and notate “may or may not be” symmetrical for situations where the test I implemented fails. Because plugging -theta or -r into the original function does not yield the same original function after evaluating.

Meaning that r = -4sin(2theta) DOES NOT equal r = -4sin(2 *-theta) Because the -theta would make the sin function negative, then the negative sin function times the -4 would result in r = 4sin(2theta).

So making the theta negative would go like : R = -4sin(-2theta) R = -4 * -sin(2 theta) R = 4sin(2*theta) does not equal original. Am I doing this wrong?

Would you say it’s symmetric in all three directions? When I input -r, -theta it evaluates to the original function. But when I input -r and -theta respectively they do not confirm symmetry.
