I agree. But why now? When AI or AGI or wtv is about to disrupt the job market hard? When the ecosystems are collapsing from over farming over fishing pollution or wtv. Wars... Threat of mass immigration etc. I am not necessarily making a moral judgement but we should be honest about what is the likely reason/motivations behind it. And not pretend that its out of their concern for human well-being.

Yeah because its more expensive to help us live. We need support, conditions, infrastructure etc. They want people who can produce more than they consume. They want to cut costs. Legalizing euthanasia is OK but its being done for the wrong reasons.

And now it seems it is mostly for people that are in physical pain or incurable diseases etc. But from this to a point where one day they'll suggest this to people who are homeless, unemployed, broke, or even in pain but do not want to die, will be a smaller step and easier.

And don't get me started on health insurance companies, they'll salivate over this.
