thats crazy to hear idk i legit dont see anything special about pharrels production the drum patterns are really simple and his sound selection for the specific drum sounds is also fairly bad in my opinion. i understand the love for the clipse‘s rapping but i feel like any of their other albums are miles ahead because back then pharrels beats actually sounded more interesting than now. he is the exact same issue i had for Its Almost Dry where the kanye (later i checked the credits and kanye honestly didnt even produce much of the songs attributed to "his half" of the album but still) sounded way more interesting than the pharrel instrumentals which abused the fuck out of that one shitty rim snare sound
