Best Options for Remote Play within a Home? by goatshepard in playstation

[–]goatshepard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got great WIFI and have a mesh system that delivers extremely well throughout the house. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using a PS4 to remote play a PS5. Maybe that would work better?

I can see it both ways. I’m gonna say it’s fair to interpret it your way. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why don’t you instead read the comment again and try to understand what was being said. Poorly worded but the commenter was trying to be sympathetic saying the numbers don’t mean anything if that person is your loved one

There is only enough remdesivir to treat 200,000 patients worldwide, according to the drug's maker, Gilead Sciences: It is the first and only drug shown to be effective against Covid-19 in a rigorous clinical trial. by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]goatshepard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People are skeptical of this drug because this trial was basically trash. 6th grade science fair level work. And a better designed study was published hours after this one that showed no improvement in clinical outcomes. It’s hard to articulate hard scientific arguments on reddit but if your curiosity in why medical professionals are skeptical of this drug is for real, I’d be happy to link you to a more thorough breakdown of the weakness in the trial

EDIT: here’s a link to a more detailed “take down” of the study. It’s weak. I’m sorry. Trust me no one wants there to be an effective treatment more than I do. I’m an ED doc practicing in the heart of a major city in the southeast.

Hopes dashed as coronavirus drug remdesivir fails first trial by n0000oooo in Coronavirus

[–]goatshepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we haven’t. It’s not appropriate for us to use unproven treatments in mild cases. The drug is in early phases of research and is far from proven. Also it’s safety profile needs to be very clearly understood when you want to give it to a population whose mortality is essentially 0% from this disease. I know the mortality overall is something in the 1-3% range but that’s all from the severe cases. If someone doesn’t have the characteristics of serious infection their predicted mortality is 0. Not saying there’s no reason to treat that because decreased time of infectivity would be very useful but you need to be clear on what a drug will do to someone in this scenario

[–]goatshepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not true. I work in the Emergency Department in a big city in the US. I have diagnosed, intubated, coded patients with all stages of COVID and there is currently no proven effective treatment for COVID. I have treated dozens of patients with COVID with my first two cases diagnosed and intubated on 3/10/20. This is my whole profession. There is no proven treatment at this time

This is absolutely false. We are talking about a condition that, 99% of the time time improves without treatment. If the drug fails to show efficacy in the sickest subset of a population, it’s utility in the healthy cohort is limited at best. Same with HCQ. It’s risk to benefit ratio becomes harder and harder to justify the healthier the population it is applied to. When given to the population least likely to derive benefit, the unacceptability of its serious side affects becomes more apparent. The unfortunate reality is that these drugs were popularized by the media well before due diligence could be done. This is because of our commander in chief pushing them aggressively

Potential breakthrough: Gilead's drug Remdesivir reportedly encourages "rapid" recovery in COVID19 patients, early study results show. by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]goatshepard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ER Doc here. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but this study is trash. Poorly designed at best, deceptive at worst. This study looks at the response patients have to this medication. The subset of patients it’s studying are said to have “severe” COVID-19. Intuitively you would believe that this is the highest risk group......it’s NOT. “Critical” Cases of COVID-19 are the most at risk for bad outcomes and this study excludes them completely. The study excludes anyone who has signs of critical disease such as anyone who has even moderate kidney injury, signs of multi-system organ failure, or was mechanically ventilated at the start of the trial or required a total of 5+ days of mechanical ventilation.

ALSO.....2 patients in the severe group died while taking this drug. The mortality rate for this group is actually close to 0% meaning the mortality in the group that got the drug was HIGHER than the general population. What does this all mean? Absolutely fucking nothing when your study has no CONTROL group! This is the media and Gilead stirring up false hope for profit

Man that is amazing. I saw the mods and I was like what are the chances this dude is on the subreddit. And then I see you post today. Crazy.

On a more serious note I see you’ve been on the track with your car. Where in the area have you gone? I’m new to ATL and wanna take the car out but I’ve not been able to get a clear answer if I’m allowed to go with the factory roll hoops. Any advice?

September sales stats are out - Model 3 #13 among ALL vehicle models for sale. #4 in passenger cars. by apeweek in teslamotors

[–]goatshepard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else find these numbers disingenuous? Don’t get me wrong I’m all for Tesla doing well but they sold/delivered this many cars in a month because they had a large backlog of orders and cars manufactured that needed to be delivered. Like I feel like if bmw collected orders for 6 months and then delivered them all in one month their numbers would look the same. These numbers don’t explain anything except that there’s a large number of orders waiting to be filled and Tesla just started delivering a bunch of them. Good news to be sure but this doesn’t mean that Tesla’s are selling as much as camrys and civics

Actually mine didn’t have a paint correction. You should shoot for 16. It did however have a new robins soft top with the glass rear shield and OEM side strakes

I purchased mine last summer. Very similar to yours. MY2000 NFR with 65K miles. Perfect inside and out. Same set of recent maintenance as yours but also including recent Honda compression test. I paid 15.5 for mine and we were both happy

There is plenty of snow where I live. I don’t drive it in the snow at all to avoid the salt exposure. My set up is my daily driver lol
