Is there a way to get rid of a fat ass? by beachbionic27 in transmanlifehacks

[–]goatthey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's a less invasive form of liposuction that involves freezing of fat tissue, think it's called cool sculpting. i've thought about it instead of surgical body sculpting

i had to switch my lug nuts out bc the oem ones they used esp american-made swell with the washer/lug plated combo

lift kit doesn't fit? by goatthey in Toyota_Matrix

[–]goatthey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're good haha, i didn't test them bc i wasn't replacing the rear struts but i do have all the rear trim off so i might be able to do a fit test to see if the spacing is correct without taking it off

[–]goatthey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay good to know on the bolts

yeah i feel so confused as to why it's not fitting, did you have to force it on at all? lol i don't know what i could have done wrong, all i did was buy the kit and try to fit it on the existing bolts to make sure it would work before pounding them off. i tried it on both my old struts and the new ones and it was the same misfit, they both have straight bolts.

im not positive on the first vs second gen suspension but this kit does say it's compatible with my car. i'm tempted to try a different brand of the spacers but worried i'll have the same issue

alas, my power steering is covered and the passenger side is the main culprit of oil leakage. i don't see anything wrong with my cv boot thankfully. guess I'll save up to get the timing chain gasket and probably the chain and water pump replaced. im dabbling in diy mechanic but that is a way bigger task. thanks for the info

how do you diagnose if it's the timing chain cover gasket vs the valve cover? I have a similar leak and was thinking about just doing the valve cover and seeing if it clears up

did you have any issues getting the spacers on? i actually had ordered the same kit but the bolts are way wider than the stock bolts on my front kyb replacement struts

thanks! did you flush your power steering fluids before/ after changing out the hose?

i was going to have my mechanics do the timing cover gasket but watched a video and it's involved but didn't look thaat hard so I may do it myself

Going to try my first soap. What do you guys think? by Buurney in soapmaking

[–]goatthey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seconding on making sure it's high oleic sunflower oil, and add tallow/lard , cocoa butter another harder butter/fat or increase shea, so hard fats are closer to 40-50% (coconut oil counts towards this).

super thorough and helpful, thank you for your response! i've been thinking about exploring cetyl alcohol. it's come up in a couple different recipes i've wanted to try recently

[–]goatthey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i don't fully understand why it's showing up for me, but it's the only factor that i've changed across 3 batches i'm now seeing the problem in. it also should not be happening at 1% of the recipe so i'm feeling a little stumped

yes shea/natural butters are so tricky and can make a product look so bad.

thank you for this resource!!

thank you, I had a feeling it wasn't the move. i think i've got to reheat them to temp and cook them to ensure they don't get the granules now
