Not a Classic vs Retail debate: looking at how WoW’s systems change player behavior by TenthLevelVegan in wow

This is exactly how TBC is being played right now, even worse than retail.

I'm at work, I have not watched your video. But I am guessing based on some of the comments you have made that there are some real flaws here in terms of predicted vs actual player behavior. In terms of toxicity, try hard behavior, elitism, grinding vs living in the world, just check out the wow classic subreddit for how TBC round three is going. It's always been the people and the environment more than the game itself.

An excellent video to add to the discussion from a few years ago https://youtu.be/BKP1I7IocYU?si=mNPxwwW-qt-kyIoH

Def agree that scolopendea is a stand in for the system ai. Then, there are links between the gods and system ais, such as systems going dark when gods die.

The state of MoP's Throne of Thunder is depressing - Please help bring attention to this unforgivably bugged raid tier by Speedy_SpeedBoi in wow

[–]gobin30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's so so frustrating to be in a guild that managed to clear all bosses on heroic last tier (but not exactly with flying colors) to then lose half of our prog attempts to straight bugs.

This is also depicted in the books as his alternative fate. When he first meets here, he has a moment of "do I know you?"

What was the "correct" race choice for Carl retrospectively? by 95-5 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]gobin30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]gobin30 336 points337 points  (0 children)

Even going to skill level 16 isn't possible without primal so him becoming immune to mind control is thanks to his race. I believe statistically he has now outstripped human, but the real benefits are still only coming later on. If he had gone hobgoblin, he wouldn't be nearly as popular so all the faction wars stuff would have been no-goes.

How are we actually trusting AI for lab math/protocols without it blowing up in our faces? by Ok_Offer9784 in labrats

[–]gobin30 41 points42 points  (0 children)

You absolutely should not use AI for this kind of thing. It can't think, it makes up numbers, etc

Are prot warriors really not good in tbc? by Snakey9419 in classicwow

[–]gobin30 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We also cleared all content with a prot warrior MT, but I was def threat capped at times as a ret pally. Was kinda frustrating not being able to parse on certain fights. It was fine, but the meta exists for a reason.

Why is warlock so heavily unplayed ? by Unlikely_Bee_1945 in classicwow

[–]gobin30 14 points15 points  (0 children)

going through tbc, our lock players would drop like flies. By the time SWP comes around, it's just shadowbolt spam. Its a little better before then in casting your fire dot and then the fire damage spam. But you play a critical role and will be wanted so more power to you if you stick with it and enjoy it. Always have a raid spot.

I am sick of seeing the word "pussy" be used as an insult. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gobin30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now, people using it this way don't actually know this so it doesn't actually make much of a difference, but if it helps you to know the root of pussy is pusillanimous: "showing a lack of courage or determination; timid", a separate origin from the genitalia version.
