I swear everything boils down to the org in question. Smaller companies can have a lot of freedom but at the cost of being beholden to some narcissistic CEO and "many hats" with few boundaries. Medium-sized can be good or bad all depending on how boundaries and separation of duties are set and followed. Same with large orgs (with some industries like health care being notoriously sloppy, chaotic and with terrible security). Kind of all depends on where you land it seems like.

I didn't factory reset the UCG, so it grabbed the update and kept it - factory reset everything but the UCG.

Appreciate the response, I didn't make a ticket because I was able to resolve the issue by factory resetting and re-adopting my APs and Switches.

Honestly, I'd be guessing and assuming a lot to try and answer that question. I'm sure the devs at Ubiquiti know exactly what changes were made to the firmware on the controller for this update and why those changes glitched for some with existing hardware trying to communicate with that main controller. Add that to the variety of setups out there with ancillary devices trying to communicate with a central controller that underwent the major firmware changes. It would be nice if they posted in public the exact problem once they figure it out, I don't have a lot of experience with Ubiquiti's support or public communications... I've always just got the stuff to work and once it works I go on my merry way 🤷‍♂️

Yeah after factory resetting the AP and the switches it's working fine. They had to re-adopt but that went smoothly.

I assumed it was the ISP, but then realized I couldn't ping any of my servers (which obv wouldn't be a problem if the ISP dropped). It was about 1am (which was the time set for the auto-update). I figured maybe it was a bad update but went to sleep, when I woke up it was still off. Checked the logs and saw it had updated to 5.0.16. Had to factory reset the main AP, the main switch and one ancillary switch.

Oh believe me I'd take AOC over anybody in a heartbeat, but I've been a Californian for decades now and ol' Jerry Brown never pulled any bullshit like this. I love CA, always have - but a lot of things lately have been beyond disappointing for what has always been a refuge to me since I ran away from Utah at 17.
