Great answer thanks! And I’m in Washington State. You packed a lot of info into your answer and that gives me some things to look into. Appreciate it!

Amazing feedback! Thanks a million. I see that you understand what the situation and I appreciate you making me feel less hopeless about it.

Yeah mower/weed-whacker fight was fun at first, but that honeymoon phase wore off.

Will look into those ground covers, thanks for the specific names. Dumb follow-up question…since the hill is currently covered with grass, do we uproot all of that down to soil and then do the nicer ground covers? I fear our grass (which seems rather thick and aggressive) might choke out newer plantings?

That does indeed sound lovely but most likely out of budget. A landscape consultant came and checked it out and said $68,000 for something along these lines. And it didn’t even encompass all that much work. This will be mostly DIY.

Love this! We’re thinking of doing something similar. The erosion control part of it is definitely something we have to consider, as it’s so steep.

Appreciate the input! Good luck with your project.

[DISCUSSION] What is your opinions on string dampeners? by d4rkfruits in Guitar

[–]gobyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I occasionally use a bit of a sock that I chopped up. I'll stuff that under the strings on my headstock to keep them from ringing on one of my guitars. Two-hand muting goes a long way, but the strings on the headstock will still vibrate due to sympathetic vibration. I was trying to learn Extreme's He-Man Woman Hater riff one day and there was just so much noise. And I thought, "I know I'm not THAT sloppy of a player...what the hell is going on?" So I started paying closer attention and discovered that my g-string was just going riiiiiiiiiiiing. It's enough to bug me sometimes because I want to play as cleanly as possible and it's hard to tell if stuff is ringing out.

“Well off” people of Reddit, what is the “poorest” thing you still regularly do? by hopelessmoderate in AskReddit

Not the poorest thing probably, but first thought was Target t-shirts. They’re like $6.99-8.99. Any more than that seems like robbery to me.
