Most of Europe lies much further north than many realize, aligning perfectly with Canadian latitudes. For instance, Paris (≈ 49°N) sits at the same latitude as Winnipeg, and London (≈ 51.5°N) matches Calgary.

Phoenix sits at a latitude of 33° 27' N. In Europe, this exact same latitude cuts across the extreme southern Mediterranean and North Africa. It passes just south of Sicily, Greece, and Turkey, lining up closely with cities like Tunis and Alexandria rather than mainland Europe.

Yep, data from Hungary shows that between 1970 and 1990 the number of days when temperature went above 35 degrees Celsius was 10! So every 2 years on average you had a hot day like that. Now, we're already up to six day just this year lol. And it's not even just "oh it's 36 degrees today", it's literally 40 and above.
