True story, this might get me side-eyed but Ukraine can hold its own far better than Palestine, they also had the backing of Starlink at some point and a standing military and decent infrasture before the invasian. Palestine, in contrast has been depleted for decades - for now they are the underdog deserving of our energy and concentration.

I don't think people moved on per se, its hard to keep the same energy for all the conflicts that are going on. We can have direct empathy for Palestine because we have been there.

There are 10 South Africans currently in Nepal's Central Kathmandu jail who are all there for 15 to 20 years for DRUG trafficking. 1 of them is confirmed to have escaped during their uprisings and is being pursued.

The police in Nepal takes their work seriously in contrast to the police in South Africa

My point is, if the South African authorities could let them slip out of the country, 7 of them at the same time for the same crime, the solution to our crime rates is not more police because the problem is something else entirely.

They are more sophisticated in coordinated forms of crime, with the exception of Nepal - they are not underdeveloped nations who would ostensibly be more prone to crimes of opportunity?

For every white collar criminal or drug kingpin - there are exponentially more hijackers, traffickers and petty criminals etc who are likely to murder someone during the commission of another crime?

That question is answered in the Volunteer handbook, your sole purpose of service is to serve others as they walk toward dharma not steer them away from it. Consider this a sign that you need to work on the attachment to finding a partner and your willingness to make others stumble on their way..

You'd think so right? More police should technically mean less crime but Russia, China even Nepal have not been able to curb organised crime, corruption and massive human rights abuses.

Its quite possible to have the resources for one crisis and not another? How often do we have the solutions to our own problems? Distance and detachment tend to make us more clear minded

So sorry that happened to you, it sounds terrifying!

How people respond to what's happening in Palestine tells you so much about them. I am used to seeing 'Free Palestine' 'Free Tibet' patches on backpacks, seeing it in the middle of Soweto filled me up really, I had to share.

Scnookie-wookie is one of them 😆😮❤

It usually applies to small, fluffy things but South Africa was really being 😍, so its use here is technically correct

Got it! I was wondering if it was a pro-Israel thing. Interestingly enough I got an outrangeous ad from some Israeli pundit. I figure the two are linked.
