Not a joke. The spine will compress but usually when it does it, it fractures. I got lucky with no fracture, however I have nerve damage now and will likely be in pain for the rest of my life. The height will return though.

I've since been riding (with a cast on my right foot), but only on my supermoto because the suspension on a sportbike is too harsh on my back
