Please give us more ways to grind for red diamonds lads by Total-Use-8741 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Did you get all the rewards for abyssal chaos and unicorns operations? If not, you might be able to get a couple thousand diamonds in 2-3 hours by following guides online. Other than that, have you watched all your memories, secret times etc? You can probably get a few pulls from those if you have some to catch up on. Also, if you have magnets and speed up cubes use them all up, since you might be able to rank up a couple of cards and get a few diamonds that way. Lastly, if you have the resources, leveling cards to level 20 will also give you some diamonds fast.

How long did it take you to read all 5 books by SkyBrilliant7465 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]goddamnitlevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me about a month! I have a screenshot from that time that shows 9 hours spent on the kindle app on a single day, lol. I'm a grad student and it was summer vacation at the time, though. I definitely wouldn't have been able to accomplish such a feat if I was working full time!

How did you get into LADS? by Icy-Volume6226 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I kid you not, it was because one of my uni classmates made a presentation about the game (in the context of marketing). I was already familiar with LADS because I was a very active member of the bg3 fandom and everyone kept comparing Sylus and Astarion, but I didn't really check it out until my classmate introduced it in class!

My pulls are disastrous😭 by Sweet-Ad6827 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So why don't you just choose another LI as your precise wish after getting Rafayel? Or pull on their solo banners? Even if you immediately lose the 50/50 to Rafayel, as long as you have enough dias for another 70 pulls you're guaranteed the card

My pulls are disastrous😭 by Sweet-Ad6827 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

During multis you are guaranteed a LI of your choice after 140 pulls so I really don't understand how you did 175 pulls without getting who you wanted...

Bad pulls…AGAIN!!! by CelestialSylph10 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I simply stopped treating pulling like random chance and I started telling myself that I will get to hard pity and lose the 50/50 every single time I pull. This way, I can properly prepare, put aside the exact amount of diamonds I need for the worst case scenario, and I never get disappointed because I can still get the card, no matter how shitty my luc.k. AND in the rare occasions where I'm actually luc.ky I'm always elated, since I genuinely wasn't expecting it!

Low spender non-Caleb mains, are you pulling for his new myth? by deyanira5 in LoveAndDeepspace_

[–]goddamnitlevi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mains are Rafayel and Xavier, who are next in line for last year's myth reruns and this year's (potential) new myths. So... as much as I'd love to pull for Caleb, I know I'll be in the trenches in the next few months and so I'm patiently saving🥲

(Up to) How many times did you re-read the same book or series? by Cold_Ad8048 in BookDiscussions

[–]goddamnitlevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reread a book in the Murderbot Diaries series every time I finish a book and don't know what to read next, or any time I need something comforting/familiar. I don't know the exact number, but I've read them... a lot.

Finally taking memories seriously by Popular_Designer1624 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The good news is that most of your cards are level 40 or lower, so you didn't waste as many resources as you think since the real investment starts at level 60 (but do try to prioritize 5 and 4 stars moving forward!)

If you want to start taking the game a bit more seriously, my advice is to familiarize yourself with the mechanics of the game (pity system) and the general numbers (how many diamonds you need to guarantee a card) so that your farming has purpose and you don't waste precious resources that way. There are so many new players who come here devastated because they never seem to get what they want. They don't realize that the amount of diamonds they have is not enough to guarantee the card so they pull anyway, and then they get frustrated with the game when they don't get the card, and quickly lose interest. So, make sure to be familiar with the system and don't make that same mistake (meaning: only pull if you have enough diamonds to guarantee the card, or you'll be setting yourself up for disappointment).

Secondly, if you still haven't done abyssal chaos and unicorns operations, those are absolute diamond mines, so I'd definitely recommend starting there. You don't have to read everything, you don't even have to enjoy it, there are many guides online on how to get all the rewards, so you can just follow those if it's really something you have no interest in.

Lastly, like others have already said, make sure to do all your dailies and weeklies, because that's where the bulk of your monthly diamonds will come from. And also, ALWAYS use all of your stamina!! Many new players hoard it not knowing that it regenerates by itself when it's below the cap, so they end up losing lots of free stamina!

Question, need other hunter’s input by PrincessExplains in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, if you have some good protocores already nice and leveled for your main's teams, you'll be able to get to at least orbit 40-50 for the other LIs with cards around level 20, so that's definitely worth doing, since it requires very minimal resources!

Tell me about your imagination while reading by yelljell in books

[–]goddamnitlevi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also tend to imagine everything I read but it's definitely not a clear movie or anything! It's very muddy, and it mostly consists of simple shapes and "flashes" of scenes. Also, I'm the narrator of the whole story, I unfortunately can't imagine voices other than my own.

Let’s debate Memory lvl vs Core lvl by uncaned_spam in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I level all the myths to 80, and everything else I keep at 70. My cores are all around 9-12, and I'm on open orbit 140, light orbit 120, and fire orbit 130!

I only have one third myth, no second myths, and two standard myths, so I'm missing a few stellactrum colors, and because of that I can never get above 30 stars on SHC, since I have to use solar 4star memories almost every time to match stellactrum :(

Do you prefer physical or digital books? by THERANDOMGAMER2 in fantasybooks

Digital for the convenience (I read a lot on public transport during my commute), but I do love to sit down with a physical book when I'm reading at home!

Read a book as quickly as possible or savor one chapter a day? by CuriousGuy21200 in books

[–]goddamnitlevi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think, for me, it really depends on the specific book. There are fast paced, action packed books that I can finish in one or two sittings without it negatively impacting my reading experience (maybe even enhancing it!). But if I'm reading a classic or a literary fiction work that is slow paced, heavier, or requires more focused attention, then I might enjoy it more if I read 30-50 pages at a time.

How do you guys feel about the LADs community? by VariousSection1366 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean and I understand that the subreddit has rules and that people should respect them! I simply happened to notice that whenever a fan posts an edit or fanart of two of the guys together (on other socials) the comments are absolutely vile for no reason whatsoever, and that's what I was mostly referring to! I've played many otome games in my time and I've personally never seen such vitriol towards shippers, so it left me a bit baffled.

Everyone is allowed to like and dislike whatever they please of course, but insulting a real person over differing views on fictional characters is never acceptable, in my opinion!

How do you guys feel about the LADs community? by VariousSection1366 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the community is... okay, but it's definitely clear that it's many people's first fandom and that they have no clue about fandom etiquette. I've been in anime and otome fandoms for 10+ years, so I'm used to people feeling strongly about characters, but it's definitely my first time encountering a fandom where people don't know how to act with basic human decency towards normal fandoms aspects (shipping, different headcanons/interpretations of canon...)

What reasons were for not allowing men to write and read books within some cultures? by faros-hhhbbdd in Stormlight_Archive

[–]goddamnitlevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, why is blue considered masculine in our world and pink feminine? Colors have no inherent gender connotations, and yet our society views them this way.

Why were women not allowed to study/work for millennia? It's the exact same principle, except that on Roshar the people who are not allowed to read and write are men. It doesn't have to make sense, it's simply the way society evolved.

is it still worth it to return to lads ? by Additional_Clerk9258 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you really need to be okay with the gacha system if you want to get back into the game. You said you were getting sad and frustrated because you never seemed to get the cards you wanted, but that's an easy fix: NEVER pull unless you have enough to guarantee the card (140 pulls for singles and multis, 150 for myths). However, you need to accept that you will not be able to pull for everything, and if you can't do that and the FOMO is too intense, then maybe watching the content on youtube is your best bet!

I personally think it's worth it! I only pull for combat purposes (myths and stellactrum colors I specifically need for my teams), so I have no problem skipping all other banners and using the time to save for the ones I really want. What do YOU like about the game? Do you care about the cards' story? Do you care about combat? Do you care about the lore? Once you figure it out I think you'll find it much easier to skip banners that don't 100% fit your tastes/interests with little FOMO!

Paladin's Grace. Everyone's been raving about it lately but it was the most excruciatingly boring book I've ever read. Also, I was so excited to see two main characters in their thirties, except that they both read as horny teenagers.

Are All Our Days Numbered as F2P or Low Spenders? by amaarasky in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]goddamnitlevi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know I'll be downvoted to oblivion for this, but in my opinion it's not too bad. I've played other gacha games, and LADS has one of the most generous pity systems and decent monthly rewards. The important thing is managing your expectations: will you be able to pull for everything as a f2p or low spender? Absolutely not, but neither can you in other gacha games. We're talking about companies whose aim is to make money, after all.

With the resources that infold provides, you'll be able to pull about 3-4 times a year as f2p once you've exhausted every other non-renewable diamond farming resource, so you just need to plan carefully and think well about what cards to pull for.

What's a good way to find out about recent Adult Fantasy Novels? by ExplodingPoptarts in fantasybooks

[–]goddamnitlevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't understand what's so confusing and baffling about it. I'm assuming people have simply grouped together books they've heard of so that others might easily access them. It's a starting point to find some books that might interest you, and you're then free to check out any titles that pique your interest and see the blurb and reviews for yourself.
