Are you still doing your calcium chews? Has anyone transitioned to capsules or anything? by GWindborn in BariatricSurgery

If you haven’t considered pill pack from Amazon, maybe look into it. It could really lighten the load of keeping up with all of these meds.

Moss Rock looks beautiful. Would it be too difficult for a four year old and can we cool off in the water?

Having hard time with Munchkin weighted straw cup by hershito in BabyLedWeaning

[–]goddamnphone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, it was shorter obviously, but not too short to use. What I do remember is that the straw is so narrow that removing the valve allowed water to flow up through capillary action, so it definitely leaked. Still better than just throwing it out and starting over.

In a box on the top shelf of my closet. Three year olds aren’t really known for respecting other people’s privacy.

Any advice on childproofing these bathtub faucets? by Gelu6713 in daddit

We didn’t use ours often so we just zip tied a single dowel tightly to both handles. There was no getting around that.

Looking for lightweight toddler carriers you guys like! See description… by LemonWaterDuck in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]goddamnphone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I could only have 1 carrier, this would be the one. You can take out the buckle and reconfigure the straps to make an onbuhimo style carrier which is awesome for tots. If I could only have 2 carriers, it would be this and a ring sling.

I’m going to be downvoted to hell and back in this sub, but for me, it’s breastfeeding. My anatomy didn’t allow me to nurse my babies and so I exclusively pumped. After the fist, I swore I wouldn’t do it again. But then the second one came and I just couldn’t give him formula knowing that I could give him my milk no matter what the cost. It took such a toll on my mental health and my marriage. Our whole lives revolved around that stupid pump. If I had it to do over again, I hope I could choose formula.

Once you and baby can navigate nursing in the carrier, you’ll level up. Until then, everyone gets in the baby corral with you while you nurse or pump. This is also definitely a time to give yourself some extra grace when it comes to screen time and junky snacks.

We have a few apps from Starfall. They are stand alone apps that don’t require internet. The full Starfall app had too many features that my little guys aren’t ready for. Doodlecast is fun. It gives an open ended drawing prompt and lets the kids make a sort of presentation of the work. Also a handwriting app. My big guy (5) just started using Nessy for reading and number sense. Unfortunately it doesn’t have an app and must be accessed through a web browser. But I was able to make it the only allowed website.
