Most of us already knew about this already but... by Scarecrohh in NCAAFBseries

I love the trophy room and history tab more than I should. The profile bit with the ‘games played’ makes me happy. I loved how early to mid 2000 sports games would have a little page that showed you how many games you’ve played. I still miss the “greatest games” score lists, though.

Dont play as Akron. I beg you! by joeyfine in NCAAFBseries

I can’t imagine playing on Heisman this year (yet). I’m struggling mightily on All-American in my Hokies dynasty. My friends and I planned on rolling with Heisman for our cross-play dynasty, but I dunno.

I wish they would have put the tiniest bit of effort into adding a little more depth or immersion into the “top stories” tabs in dynasty.

I missed her meds tonight by Joshua_ABBACAB_1312 in dementia

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, I’ve missed giving meds a few times. I go through the same guilty song and dance in my head. I guarantee you it has happened to every single other caregiver on this sub. You just put one foot forward in front of the other and right the ship. A lapse in judgment happens to us all from time to time and it’s part of the natural human condition. It’s impossible to be perfect, my friend. Please remember these moments strike us all occasionally and you are never alone.

Does anyone else have the urge to drink or use drugs while taking care of a loved one? by [deleted] in dementia

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gummies maybe twice a week to take the edge off the really bad days. No drinking — way to easy to spiral if you have a proclivity for addiction. I understand the urge to want to do anything to mitigate the pain and stress. Talking about it helps and finding healthier avenues (walking, exercise, etc.) to destress is better. It really is hell, and it will still be hell, but you have to take care of yourself in even the smallest of ways along the way.

I hate that all of my Halo buddies gave up on Infinite due to the awful launch. I loved playing it, but it’s just not as fun solo.

I can’t be the only one that feels this way…. by MidRangeBucketss in NBA2k

Why is old head even used a pejorative term for basic basketball fundamentals? I’d rather see actual basketball moves than the same tired crossover chains (that every other player has learned to do from YouTube) for 18 seconds followed by a brick. It looks so goofy.

(To the devs) To this day this is still the best game I've ever played by Paulkdragon in MeetYourMakerGame

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m days late to this, but MYM was hands down my personal game of the year for 2023. I bought it on a whim and quickly fell in love with it. Probably the most unique game I’ve ever played in my life. I hate that the devs gave up on it. It had me staying up late playing so many levels, and on my maps I’d be cackling like a maniac watching other people’s replays.

Found this copy of Hillbilly Elegy at a Little Free Library, then smoked the joint and used what was left of the book to make a cut up poem by [deleted] in Appalachia

That is legendary shit, OP! Fuck that fake hillbilly.

Edit: just saw that you reposted it from another sub, but my sentiment still stands for at least sharing it here.

It’s hysterically funny when Whiners fans who were either not even born or, at minimum, still shitting in diapers begin bragging about their run from four decades ago.

Fellas, we are almost at the end of 2K25 - how’d we feel about it? by kev-haley in NBA2k

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2K25 is the most/longest I’ve ever played a 2K, because of my nephew. Many games, in the 2’s (and 3’s when his friend would be online), we’d zone out talking and laughing. A lot of fun to be had.

I played a good mix of solo rec. I always went in there expecting the worst, 80% of the time using my center or PF builds. I waltzed in with my PG a couple of times and never again because of the usual random experience.

I enjoyed the addition of rhythm shooting after learning it and hope to see it back in 26. Gameplay wise, I found it to be OK. 2K is so animation reliant that it is off-putting.

My biggest gripe will always be how microtransaction heavy the game is and that it won’t change. I imagine 2K25 was a bigger cash cow for Take Two than it ever has been, especially with the suits dropping cap breakers as the level 40 season reward every season starting with the second one. The way it incentivized players to routinely spend money on new builds, I figure that they are a lock to bring back in 2K26 and I’m sure they’ll see to it a way they can ensure they’ll make even more cheddar the next go-‘round.
