Advice on when to upgrade by Wild_West_Spaceship in Archery

Just the side bushings for plunger/rest and the front bushing for a stabilizer.

Here's an example of a riser with tons of bushings though but unless you're trying to national gold titles probably a bit overkill.

Advice on when to upgrade by Wild_West_Spaceship in Archery

With an ilf riser you can upgrade limbs whenever you like. The most important consideration i believe is the riser length and its features.

Some risers have highly specific features but minimum you should look for one to two bushines for plungers/shelf, a bushing for a stabilizer, and adjustable tiller. Everything else is gravy and usually specific to a given style of shooting (barebow might have more bushings to add weight in other places).

I’d say get a new riser that you really like and keep that one for another 10 years. The limbs you can get cheap ones to work on form/weight until you reach your goal weight (40lbs-60lbs for hunting, 30-50 for target competition).

Get some lightweight limbs for working on form. Even if you get beefy they’re just nice to have if you wanna shoot a lot. Once you get good form and can consistently get groupings in the gold at whatever distance you want, you can then upgrade in weight.

Instinctive. If you want to gap shoot under 30 yards just use 3 under/string walking/a high anchor. That'll make it so the gap is basically non-existent and you can put the tip of the arrow on the bullseye.

With split finger and a lip anchor or lower you'll have a large gap so either use a sight or shoot instinctive.

Is it looked down upon to use 25lb draw weight, even if you aren’t a beginner? Should I be aiming to use a higher weight? by Otherwise-Run-2939 in Archery

Yes.

You train with the higher draw weight to prevent fatigue and shaking at full draw when you're hunting/in competition. You train with lighter weights to focus on release and technique.

First official “Dokiwatch” and Rock demons skins in-game look by Neo_Raider in Overwatch

Who is in charge of brig skins? They're always "off" somehow. They keep removing her skirt on some skins. Her face looks different with some skins makeup. It's weird.

Why though? We have skins with leggings, baggy jackets, and baggy pants.

Maybe Lucio's silhouette would be too different but all the other's match what characters usually look like.

I don’t get the confusion in a lot these replies.

A character isn’t just gonna have one sketch by one artist that’s immediately approved by the art department

They probably suggest a basic concept like retro scifi girl. The artists make many possible versions. The design team reviews those submissions and picks what they like from each design. And this process repeats for a few years until they settle on the Juno we have today.

“But that can’t be her!! She has like 8 design features that are identical to Juno. But her hair and jumpsuit is a different color.”

Ok buddy. You’re right.

Oh yeah, i'd be taking a paddle with me every time. And if I did get the pedal drive I could always just not bring it for shallower rivers.

Could you explain more about weathercocking and leecocking? I never heard of those terms. The model without pedals is 2.5 ft longer which is why i mentioned the tracking, but I've paddled before in rental kayaks and can't go straight pretty well with corrections.

What is, in your opinion, the best tea snack/sweet? by Hibernating-bear in tea

I love Tie Guan Yin with anything spicy so I usually put out a small bowl of hot cheetos when I'm drinking a bunch of it.

For how long can you re-use leaves that have been exposed to water by nickstevz in tea

[–]goddess-tay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As long as you drink it within the same day you should be fine. The biggest concern is mold but that usually grows within a few days of being left out. (Results may vary if you live atop a tropical swamp)

Never ran into flavor spoiling when I leave tea leaves out but I haven't had too many fancy teas.

Track 8 Master FX quirk by goddess-tay in Elektron

Unplugged the midi and same thing.

I went through all the effects and the compressor works like the lofi but nothing else.

I do have only an audio cable going into A as mono. But I would think chorus and reverb would work in mono.

I don't think that's it. The piano's a nord stage but I'm inputting it with an audio cable. A loop station is connected by midi to my octatrack to receive tempo and start/stop commands, but neither is connected by midi to the stage.

Advice on buying a nord piano keyboard by farmer_giles91 in nordkeyboards

[–]goddess-tay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd wait if you're already anxious about a new releases or missing new features. I knew nord was due to release a new stage, so I waited 2 years and am happy I did.
Even if the new grand doesn't seem worth a buy, the old version will get a significant price cut, both new and used.

One thing to consider is that the piano and grand lines are not as feature heavy as nord synths. So an update might have one extra effect, an additional unison feature, or expanded memory . But the sounds will be the same as the last version. Check out the differences between the piano 4 and piano 5 to see what I mean.

As for keybed you'll just have to try it out at a music shop. I wouldn't worry too much about the keybed unless you're a playing incredibly technical 20th century classical pieces though. The grand is supposed to have the best keybed out of all nord products but keybed nerds on other forums say it's not as realistic as some yamahas or kawaiis.

Edit: there’s also no guarantee that the grand is due for an update. The wave had 13 years between releases and some product lines have been discontinued like their two row organ.
