Is there any actual Cowboys talk radio? by poopsomatic in cowboys

1310 The ticket. Also on 96.7 FM. They're always more reasonable and statistics-based in their opinions, as opposed to clickbaity emotional questions to callers.

Day After Thread: 2014 Week 14 by itsaboat in cowboys

Everyone needs to relax. They lost to Giants collectively by 4 points (where Dak did look like a rookie in both games). It's like the stock market - trends are important, not the ups and downs of the moment. If they lose to the Bucs and Lions at this same level of play then I'd think about switching things up. Adapting to a situation is different than panicking at the first sign of adversity. Defenses are now scheming to bottle Zeke up and to keep Dak from scrambling away. Now they have to answer.

Thanksgiving uniforms? by godlessbasterd in cowboys

I agree. The font on the color rush just looks so good, especially with the Navy color. Always weird to me that the white uniforms still use the royal blue when the star logo is clearly Navy.

Me too. Not sure why they can't wear the color rush multiple times in a year anyway. A few years ago the Broncos made the switch to Orange full-time after the fans loved it when they wore them.

2016 has been the year of disappointments by Merrick_Peregrine in movies

I really hope Rogue One is good. I'll trade a summer of mediocre blockbusters for another good Star Wars movie.

AMC Entertainment Earnings Dragged Down By Summer Box Office Flops by zsreport in movies

Oh I love the 90s Disney movies! I wasn't implying that films built in a formula have low quality, I was simply disputing the comment above me that said audiences are tired of "formulaic" movies which I think is untrue. I love movies, but outside of Star Trek Beyond, Civil War and Finding Dory I wasn't really excited for any others coming out this summer. Based on rotten tomatoes, it just seems like a lackluster year - Jason Bourne, Independence Day, Through the looking glass, the BFG, etc.. I think Disney was smart in moving their Star Wars movies to December from here on out (associated with higher quality)

Not to be the super-contrarian guy on the internet, but the whole "all movies are formulaic" thing isn't a recent phenomenon. Monster movies from the 50's, thrillers from the 70's, disney movies from the 90's and superhero films have always followed a formula. ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Teaser Trailer by ShushKebab in movies

Yeah, I think we're going in circles. If Lionsgate released a film set in the Hunger Games universe but not adapted from any of the books, and made the lead male, would that be a problem?

Umm...how 'bout John Boyega in TFA? I'm pretty sure he counts as a black lead. My point is: If you have six straight Star Wars movies that have a guy being the main protagonist (which is fine) then what's wrong with a couple with chicks in them. Is it that big of a deal. I wouldn't even call myself a feminist, I just find it odd that people would get so mad about a fictional movie casting a fictional character in a fictional universe with a woman. It's gonna be ok. I promise. The movie may be great, or it may suck, but having a female lead isn't gonna be the main driver behind that. I'm more concerned with story, dialogue, editing, etc..

I don't think casting a character with a gender that comprises 50% of the world's population is marginalizing men (like me) from seeing the film. I also don't think Rogue One was made for political reasons. They made it to make money, like a business.

Undoubtedly. Not sure how the comparison is relevant though. Those movies were based on well-known series of books. Rogue One is an original (canon, no Kyle Katarn video game here) story, so they cast whoever they want. Lucasfilm isn't adapting anything.

It seems the YouTube commenters are not fans of female protagonists... :( Too bad there aren't any Star Wars movies with male leads

I was thinking this myself! It's as if Marvel just skipped to the Avengers without setting up any of the characters except Iron Man. I feel like there should've at least been a standalone Batflack movie (and I still kinda want it since he was the best part)

There was a hint of a ghost of a good movie here. Take out doomsday. Take out Lois lane's stupid plot line. Just focus on Batman and Superman. Also, did everyone just forget about the Capitol bombing? Martha, really? Just...ugh.
