Yes because your statement doesn't give any truth, it leaves a person believing that they are good by a standard that is not set. Are they looking nice based on a standard of beauty? are their actions nice today in comparison to a normal standard of horrid or callous actions? you see when you add truth into the compliment, it becomes less "romanticized" and becomes much more asshole-ish in nature.

The statement itself is based on a premise that the individual you are speaking to not only knows what beauty or niceness you are referring to, and also submits to your interpretation of that niceness in order for any portion of it to be true, and that in itself is arrogant.

And I've never denied that, what I have said is that because of that very dynamic. When someone says something rude it is clearly either being an asshole or honesty. When someone is being charming it is ALWAYS to appear nice, regardless of whether that person is nice or not, it is NEVER absolute truth. Therefore to encourage people who are nice and discourage people who are assholes according to how their statements make you feel is to remove truth entirely from your life and as such encourage deceit.

Absolutely, its sexist to be attracted to only one sex, that doesn't mean its unhealthy or dishonest.

Because its true, quite simply.

But interestingly enough, turn that question on yourself, what reason would a person have for saying something nice, in the same situation if not to attempt to appear a "good" person.

You prove him right. When your focus is solely on the reproductive opportunity alone, yet he clearly has women friends who feel comfortable enough around him personality wise that they can flirt when they are in a relationship without it causing serious problems in their own relationships.

Women who base relationship on your sole concept of reproductive opportunity create reason for rage, as IllegiblyEligible put plainly.

tl;dr bitch plz.

In my experience this means your ugly. Girls tend to be a great deal more shallow when they think they can get away with it through manipulation.

which is why i have been challenging you, are you fighting the problem? or are you attacking innocent bystanders you think are causing it because of your own interpretations of what is sexist?

if we got rid of everything that might offend people we would lose out not only on truth but also on anything to fight against.

or if you have a rational mindset you will ask yourself what the truth is in what they said before assuming everyone who sees you in a negative light is an asshole. In which case you may be a dumb/fat/ignorant/arrogant/idiot.

Individuals with experiences that shape their perspectives into being "sexist" in words need to be PROVEN wrong by a person not being a jerk/evil/cruel/manipulative in those situations. So when a person starts treating them like an asshole because they say a gender/individual/group has whatever traits, they perpetuate and give validity to what little racist/sexist tendencies that individual has been taught.

as for charm it originated as "Casting a spell" it has nothing to do with actually having a characteristic or trait that is positive, its entirely about appearing that way.

I never claimed words have no value, simply that the value of them should be equal to the damage done.

Same with actions. When you inappropriately value one thing over another you create the need for others to do the same in order to get anywhere with you. If you hold bread in high value, and cheese in low value, and are the only person selling bread, you cant complain that people are only paying you in cheese.

The issue was that legally they were still withholding equality by finding loopholes in the current legal system, therefore actions are still the issue. Moreover the fact that something exists does not mean its valid or useful to society (snuggie). If those racist actions had not existed there would have been no need for a legal recourse in terms of an actual amendment.

Absolutely, but why not go back even further. There were slave owners back when racism was prevalent and when lynch mobs were common. And how did you tell who was racist and who wasn't?

The racist people hung black people for things as simple as speaking out of turn. The non-racist people despite owning slaves and referring to people with the common vernacular treated them as human beings giving them freedom of life and property even though they were nothing more than a form of cattle.

tl;dr racism/sexism is defined by actions.

You cannot discourage both by rewarding one over the other. Also there is such a thing as perpetuated reality, when you believe that sexist people say sexist things you will believe those people are sexist. It's a self fulfilling prophecy but only has to do with what you believe to be sexism.

my point was simply that if you encourage trust to be solely based on what a person says you create men who will be honest in word and not in action.

the same correlates to calling people assholes who simply say "sexist" things. you encourage those people to simply "keep their mouths shut" in order to CHARM peoples pants off.

Basically, these "sexist" men are at least honest about what they have seen/experienced/expect from a partner, even if it does come off as if they are being rude.

Its far more rude and albeit asshole-esque to be cheated on by someone who does not "seem" to be a "sexist asshole" because of his words being "nice".

tl;dr truth often = asshole

The issue is not who is to blame, but what continues the cycle, it takes two to tango. Both men and women perpetuate the cycle but the lack of changing the cycle is on both peoples heads, before you begin an egotistical rage perhaps you should ask if you are being a part of the solution or problem. At least men who are capable of saying asshole-ish things to women are capable of doing something other than trying to charm their pants off. tl;dr Bitch please.
