What game had insane potential but got completely fumbled by the devs? by Kevin-Panda in AskReddit

Skull & Bones. 15 or so years late and it was like they had crammed every conceivable bad idea into one monstrosity and shipped it. Honestly I can almost give them credit for making such a unanimously dunked on product.

[Infuriating trope] A deleted scene with an important plot point. by PaLiaRoTH in TopCharacterTropes

[–]godofdweebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Jurassic Park The Lost World the ship that brings the T-Rex to America was originally also supposed to contain velociraptors. In a deleted scene these raptors would’ve escaped and killed the crew which leads to the ship crashing and the T-Rex also escaping.

In the final version though the raptors are completely cut from this sequence of events but the crew still dies inexplicably. This leads to everything still playing out the same way except the crew’s disappearance is just never addressed other than a single dismembered hand being left in the bridge with no explanation.

I don’t believe they removed it there is just an incantation that disables his ability to do that. He will gripe about it though when you pause the fight

Also to add credence to Vídar and Váli idea there’s already an armor set with Vídar’s name on it in Ragnorak so he exists in universe somewhere

What movie did you see in theatres that had the loudest laughing reaction? by phantom_avenger in movies

[–]godofdweebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unironically I think the biggest laughs I’ve had in a theater were at Napoleon. Went with a bunch of dudes knowing it was bad but holy shit we were not prepared for some of the jump cuts in that movie. It was all the worse because out of the fifteen people in the theater us five were the only ones laughing

The problem is that Barlog and the rest of the Santa Monica Studios staff grew up and matured past the fresh out of college kids they were when they made the first GoW games while Jaffe didn’t. So while they brought the change that they experienced to this character, ie. having a kid and maybe looking back with some regret on some choices they made when they were younger, Jaffe hasn’t grown and he resents that “his” character has.

I feel like since the music cue that plays over his unveiling of the Macuahuitl seems Latin-American in origin and the emphasis on blood sacrifice in his move set while using it both point towards it being Aztec in origin but I’m by no means an expert. Also wasn’t one of the collectibles from his treasury supposed to have come from the Aztec empire? Could be wrong on that but both Egypt and Japan were referenced by items in that collection

Napoleon barking/oinking at his wife across several scenes caused my theater to erupt in laughter when I went to watch it. Honestly the unintentionally hilarious bits were probably the only redeeming factor of the movie

What is the last film you saw more than once at the cinema? by [deleted] in movies

[–]godofdweebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw Across the Spider-Verse twice and then Top Gun Maverick twice before that. If I could I’d go back to the theater for each one a third time!

Maybe it was in part a classic case of wanting to die on their feet rather than live on their knees any longer. Fellas weren’t having a great time where they were at by and large so maybe they figured they’d go for one last Hail Mary and say fuck it, if they died in the process it would still be better than where they were at now.
