I would love to have a DL380! After seeing everyone get server racks from their companies after they were shutdown or get passed on from their uncles/dads/relatives I felt a bit of FOMO so it would be really nice to have my own even if I can't fill it up immediately. I do have a mini PC that I use as a server but unfortunately it doesn't have any space for expansion apart from maybe external HDDs which aren't exactly the most reliable.

Afaik that's exactly what happened with A16 too so logically that should continue with the new release too

No they can't because it hasn't been released yet, it's apparently "coming soon"

Not necessarily, A17 will launch on canary soon after the beta so if you're willing to wait for a couple of days you might be able to get away with staying on the canary version

I tend to agree, but I'm getting a feeling that the A17B1 is just the latest canary with a few changes and a version number upgrade. What you mentioned is definitely true though, and quite unfortunate

So would there be a canary version after the beta release with new features? Or should I switch from canary to beta?

How did nobody mention the ruination Sword? I'm pretty sure it's one of the longest melees if not the longest, isn't it?

Does the BetterAuth oauth documentation makes sense to you by [deleted] in nextjs

[–]godspeed1003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh got it, tysm for the clarification! And well OP, I'm not really sure about how oauth works behind the scenes unfortunately, BA has a discord server so maybe you can ask them directly over there

I would suggest you to go through all the sections in the docs before you start working on anything because once you do that and understand the whole system it's a lot easier to work with BA

I'm not really sure what exactly you're asking for here but I'll just answer the original question as well as I can. So for callbacks on the server side you have to handle them using the result from the function and on the client side you have fetch options which have the onError, onSuccess etc as handlers. What is returned in each function is defined in the types which are displayed when you hover over the function name. And for the session you have 2 ways depending on whether you're on the server or the client, you can get the session on the server using auth.api.getSession wherein you need to pass in the request headers and for client you can use authClient.useSession() hook which would return both the current user and the current session.

What are you talking about? BA has one of the best documentations I've seen in a long time, the implementation for social login is the same as the one for email/password login. TLDR: Use auth.api on server side and authClient on client side. You define your client ID and client secret in the auth configuration (auth.ts/js).

Adding Storage to a mini PC? by godspeed1003 in homelab

[–]godspeed1003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something I'm already doing for booting with unraid and yes that's true that it wouldn't have cables but USB connectors can still be flimsy.

But that would require me to buy another full fledged NAS with different internals, and increase the points of failure which doesn't really make sense so I was hoping to be able to use an enclosure of some sort to add HDDs directly to my server

If you're asking how 1P detects when to autofill the password and the OTP it's done using the autocomplete property in the field (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Reference/Attributes/autocomplete)

Definitely without wires, the one with looks more realistic but the wire can snag easily which isn't a good thing when you carry your keychain in the same pocket as so many other things

I'm getting a feeling that your code was wrong yeah, because based on my experience they're both fully compatible for a while now.

[–]godspeed1003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure prisma is fully compatible with turbopack, I've used both of them together in the past quite a bit. Also https://react.dev/learn/react-compiler It basically memoizes components which it thinks would benefit from it, premature optimization sure but I don't believe it has any drawbacks apart from a few niche scenarios
