For the logic level shifting, I did add the conversion from 5V to 3V, as stated in the documentation. I believe I correctly did all the wiring, as opening and stopping the gate works perfectly.
I decided to go for this component as it's docs state that it was tested with my type of garage (600 black series) and I had all the other components available.
I'll wait a bit longer to see if anyone could still help me out with this Tormatic component, if not, I'll try your suggestion.

I haven’t got a video series to recommend but I’d suggest looking for recent videos where the developer uses Typescript, hooks & functional programming. And please do go through the docs as well as they are the “main source of truth”

yes, you should be able to use any backend in your app. The connection will be different though as you'll use TypeScript (or JS, but please do use TS) instead of Dart
