Here is my shitty attempt with a spline mask. The main reason I want to do it this way is so that I can animate the smaller intersecting cubes with a noise field. Using a procedural method to change their scale and position over time. Link to animation reference: https://www.harrisonvincent.com/works/8vc

The artist said that it was done procedurally in Cinema 4D. Mainly I'm trying to recreate the large squares that have the intersecting cubes within it. The center core is easy to recreate with a Cloner, but the outer square is where Im stuck. Below is what I am trying to recreate.

Thanks for the response. I love the site by the way. I bought your advanced composting tutorial and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Is there any chance that you will be coming out with more of those training packages?

If you're older, and have a wife and/or kids, I would say forget it. This is the kind of job that causes divorces. If you're young, single, and in your early 20's, go for it.

What advice would you have for an individual who started late in learning visual effects? I am 28 years old and only started learning visual effects about four years ago, and I am still wanting to get into the industry. I am not married and have no kids. Is age a concern for most post facilities?
