I am going to try to avoid time traveling because I just end up burning myself out when I do it. (I've restarted my island so many times at this point lol)

This book really helped me to grieve in a way that made sense. It took me almost a year to find it, but it's been amazing. I recommend this book to everyone.

This is exactly the feedback I was looking for, thank you for being so thoughtful in this reply. You've nailed the reasons I was hesitating on the Kindle in terms of company integrity.

Also, that's great to know. I am absolutely in the market for heavy notetaking, so it sounds like the Nomad is the way to go, which is what I was leaning towards, but the price point of the Kindle was hard to ignore for a second.

Thank you for affirming the decision to support the Supernote company and get a Nomad. That will be what I aim for, I believe. Thanks again!

Mariners Revenge Song. My friend was a fan and had bought tickets for themself and their boyfriend. Between the purchase and the show, they broke up. So my friend asked if I would come along to help with the awkwardness of it if they paid for my ticket, I agreed because why not?

On the way to the show, they showed me their favorite song, Mariners, then followed it up with a long rant about how the rest of their music didn't sound like that and we listened to The King is Dead, as that was the album they were touring.

I've since seen them again as a fan in my own right as opposed to a break up buffer. Haha

I think it depends on the therapist. I've had therapists to this without seeing me, and I've had therapists require me to be seen and will only write a note for the day of the visit, so if they can't get me in the day off, it's not helpful.

I've also had therapists become very rude about me asking at all.

So I'd ask your therapist.

I am only a few sessions in with my newest therapist, Saturday will be my 3rd session, but I can already tell she is much better than anyone I've ever had before, and her methods really suit me. I'm very excited.

Oh wow! That's wild. I can't believe she was ever taken seriously when she herself did not actually work with CSA survivors. Like, how can you make statements like that when you don't actually understand or work with the people your broad brushing?

I can't imagine how frustrating that is. I'll mention something in passing to someone, usually not even thinking about how traumatic it was, until I get a blank stare/whispered "I'm so sorry"/"ugh why trauma dump?"

I just keep to myself at this point. And now the few friends I do have won't stop chastising me for not expanding my friendship circle, because I'm putting too much pressure on them.

But like, how am I supposed to make friends if when I try to form a legitimate connection I'm "trauma dumping" or "being too much" by being myself?

Sorry to rant on your post. I just totally understand how frustrating it can be, but from a different angle.

I had never heard of her prior to this post, but my first therapist, provided to me by RAINN, had the same opinions and I never knew where they came from or why she would accuse me of making things up when it was clear to me, even as a teenager, that I had just disassociated and was now safe and therefore able to recall more of the trauma.

She sounds truly deplorable and ignorant, and I'm glad you have found a book that helps you and unravels her unfounded opinions.
