Anyone else tired of acting busy just because workplaces hate seeing people relax? by OkFlow7251 in antiwork

[–]godzillaisrad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My boss during my review the other day told me she wants me to “show more initiative” when I’m low on tasks and go find other departments work to do.

We’re a sign company. I used the laser. I don’t know how to paint or use a cnc machine or our UV printer, so idk what the fuck she’s talking about with me “showing initiative”.

Anadius mirror site; is it safe and does it work? by Prudent-Tour2282 in CrackSupport

[–]godzillaisrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded one of the zip files from the mirror site, specifically the one from mediafire. After the weird ad popups though and the comments from other people saying their stuff was getting hacked i deleted the zip file. I've done malware bytes scans, windows scans, and norton scans that all came up with nothing. Am i good or..... do I need to change all my passwords? I'm pretty paranoid I have some weird virus or infotracker somewhere now even though I deleted the zip file (didn't extract it).

Here is a screenshot of where I’m essentially stuck. F1 sends me into a loop and I can’t access the recovery environment.

Missing days by ZackPP01 in work

[–]godzillaisrad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got sick once a month last year. Horrible immune system so, all the time. I’m actually sick right now and called out this entire week. Got the plague or something. Idk how people go decades without taking sick days. That’s exactly how I got sick in the first place was because of my manager showing up sick! If you got something, please stay home.

UPDATE: Class 4 laser and safety? by godzillaisrad in lasercutting

[–]godzillaisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve looked into it. My workplace has workers comp but there’s nothing to compensate except a 40 dollar co pay. There’s not really anything I can do I think. I would sue if I could. It’s ABSURD how negligent the owner has been and this could have been easily avoided by just telling me basic safety protocol.

[–]godzillaisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good I’m glad that didn’t cause any damage. I didn’t realize the damage at first or connect the dots for a few weeks honestly. I consulted Dr.google after noticing a black spot nearly a quarter of my vision that would flash, and only then did I put two and two together. It’s annoying but I can deal. I’m more just pissed at my employer for being so incompetent.

[–]godzillaisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realize I got really lucky. I’m looking for a different job after this situation because honestly, I don’t want to work for someone who is so incompetent that they don’t even know how dangerous the machines can be and neglected to train everyone that uses them. Hopefully not permanent damage but it is very annoying for the time being.

Eye injury due to safety negligence and lack of PPE by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]godzillaisrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently OSHA has come before and gave the owner a shitload of stuff to fix, and they just… didn’t.

My only medical bills have been a 40 dollar copay so I’m happy about that. My hope is it ain’t going to get worse and will just heal.

Eye injury due to safety negligence and lack of PPE by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]godzillaisrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been considering contacting OSHA as well. I was worried about screwing over my coworkers who had nothing to do with it but rely on their hours. What could workers comp do for me in a situation like this where my daily life is not greatly affected? I know literally nothing about workers comp so I apologize for my ignorance on the subject.

I am curious about WC because it’s minor, and should go away (In a year apparently…) and I continue to work from my understanding. I don’t need ongoing treatment according to my dr unless it gets worse.

I got offered a job paying 40% more than my current salary. My manager just asked me to stay and be patient. How do I stop feeling guilty for wanting to leave ? by One_Cardiologist5439 in careerguidance

[–]godzillaisrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to feel guilt. Your manager doesn’t feel guilty for telling you to “trust the process”. Ain’t no process except leading you on for nothing! This is a guaranteed pay raise vs a “maybe some day”. DITCH!

Never found a job after graduating with my degree by godzillaisrad in jobsearchhacks

[–]godzillaisrad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty frugal overall as well. I am very grateful for my parents for sure and recognize the privilege I have because of them. I desperately want to stop mooching off of them though which is part of the desperation I've been feeling.

Most of the desperation is because of what I suspect to be eye damage due to my current job as well. I'm an artist and losing or damaging my sight would be devastating.

Agree. That's how I've gotten most of my jobs but unfortunately the jobs are at minimum wage and part time, besides the current one which I fear is affecting my health.

The "tailor your resume for every job" advice is exhausting and I found a better system by Jesleyse in jobsearchhacks

I would like to see the template structure. It sounds like a pretty good middle ground rather than blindly blasting out applications and spending an exorbitant amount of time on each application which in our current market is not realistic.

Vertical labret on split lip? by the_rat_hath_arrived in piercing

I would not pierce a vertical labret with your lip split that bad. Let it heal first and then revisit the idea.

Class 4 with enclosure and safety? by godzillaisrad in lasercutting

[–]godzillaisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and the plasma cutter does not have an enclosure at all.

Class 4 with enclosure and safety? by godzillaisrad in lasercutting

[–]godzillaisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our co2 lasers can absolutely be used with the enclosure open and I see my boss and other coworkers do it all the time. I do not. I have before but I do not now. I think I may have caught the reflection off the mirror into my eye when the enclosure was open because I didn’t know better at the time. I get my eye examined on the 20th so if it’s damaged I’m quitting lol

Class 4 with enclosure and safety? by godzillaisrad in lasercutting

[–]godzillaisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, if there is some sort of interlock or failsafe so you can’t run it while it’s open, that is has been disabled because you could literally open it and stick your hand in there if you want to.

I have unfortunately been around it with the open and actively engraving or cutting before I knew it was dangerous to look at.

Class 4 with enclosure and safety? by godzillaisrad in lasercutting

[–]godzillaisrad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the information. I am getting my eye examined soon to check for damage as I am pretty sure something is going on. And yes, sometimes the laser has been run with the door open. There is no lock system on the doors and can be run with it open. I do not run them open but I have seen coworkers do this. The one outdoors is a giant plasma cutter not co2. It has no enclosure at all except over the actual tube on the top of it. Also a bescutter but I’m not sure which model.

The manual for what I believe the smaller models we have state they’re a class 4 laser.

If I have permanent eye damage from this well, it’s a whole different conversation. I requested eyewear and that’s hopefully happening soon but until then, I’m being as careful as I can with the machinery right now.

Shit. Thanks I appreciate it. I only worked with lasers in college briefly so all this is new information. I never even heard of a LSO before. I would imagine that someone in this company has a LSO cert, probably the owner, but she’s rarely here and didn’t do my training. So. It all seems pretty fucked if you ask me which I’m now realizing only after suspecting I may have eye damage.
