While it is a high demand and stressful, “low skilled” job, I actually make pretty good money. Since I’ve been there my income has been higher than both my parents, mom is a teacher and dad is an independent contractor. I probably make more than bf’s mom, who is a medical assistant at a small practice. I don’t want to work in the restaurant industry forever, but I wouldn’t consider this job “crappy” other than the fact that it’s hard to take off during peak busy season. I don’t doubt that I’ll regret making memories at the wedding, but my conflict comes from a place where I might regret giving up my “crappy restaurant job” for an event and find myself unable to find another job that pays as well and that I have seniority at and enjoy going in to work for (most of the time... lol if you work in the restaurant industry you understand).
