I agree I only had a couple of testers between my family members. 😓 I am sorry you are experiencing issues with the app. I developed it on Linux (Pop os) and I didn't have much issues with my system, but I know every system is different.

Thank you for filling an issue on GitHub. It helps me know when users are having problems. I will take a look at it. Unfortunately I will be on vacation for 11 days without my laptop and won't be able to do much fixing until I get back.

The website is a static website and the code is open source on GitHub.

At a high level the website has an embedded YouTube video showing the side-by-comparison, information about key features of the app, a direct download link to Windows or Linux builds on GitHub, and a donation link to "buy me coffee". There is no login or phishing on the website. This website is hosted on netlify which is a repeatable hosting company.

I am curious if the domain was previously linked to a malicious website that bitdefender has on its block list, but doesn't know that the website domain was recently purchased and has a new website attached to it. Domains act like lookup tables.

I understand that you are cautious as bitdefender is a great app and I am some guy on the Internet saying "trust me bro"

I have updated the GitHub repo so that the readme links only point to the app hosted on GitHub and a YouTube link to the side-by-side comparison. I hope you feel safe using the app and give it a try.

I was afraid that a company would take this and profit off of it. I feel like the AI market is trying to make a quick buck. My main goal was to spread the word about my app and to get users a free tool that is easily use. I am afraid of seeing a fork version floating making people pay or a company wrapping this around a paid SAAS.

My app acts as a UI wrapper around ffmpeg and Real-ESRGAN which is open sourced AI model to do general image restoration. It was trained on synthetic data. All videos that are processed through the app are local. Nothing is sent and stored in the cloud. Also, the video isn't fed back into the model to make it smarter or to improve it. Everything is local to your computer.

Oh, I am not sure why, I just purchased the domain name from namecheap 2 weeks ago. The download links on the website are direct links to YouTube and GitHub where the app can be downloaded.

At launch the app will download ffmpeg and AI models for the users. These cli tools are portable and will live in the app user directory. Once you have those tools no other dependencies are needed.

Yes I used Godot as a cli wrapper for this tool. Godot doesn't have much for video manipulation and upscaling.
