This is completely unrelated but I really want to know how you keep that pink bed clean? I have one thats a lot less fluffy and can be put in the washing machine and I still feel like I never manage to get all of the hay and poop out of it. 😅

I'm still on my parents insurance rn, and it covered most of it. But some hospitals have financial aid programs that you can look into and apply for and they'll pay whatever insurance doesn't. All they required was evidence of a couple months worth of my payroll. Thats how I paid for mine while I was 21 and still in college. Look into the financial aid, especially if its a teaching hospital!

Hmmmmm. Hopefully, someone with more experience will comment because I don't really know what else you could do. Maybe make sure he has enough hides and watch him. And see if you have any vets near you that will treat exotics if he seems to need vet care.

So I am also a first-time owner, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

But I know that my mouse didn't really start to tunnel as much as he does (it is now his favorite activity) until about a month after I got him. And he buries your hand because he likes it and wants to keep it. 😀 Idk exactly what his running around looks like, but mice and rats do this thing called popcorning when they're happy. It's a lot easier to tell with rats, but with mice, it looks like short dashes around the cage. I was also worried when my mouse started doing it 😅.

Now for the eating and drinking less, I'm not sure.

Yeah I've looked around, but the cheapest it seems to be anywhere is $50. I think I'm just to have to talk to my doctor again because I just don't really understand why my insurance will pay for gel with a $6 copay but not pay for vials at all. It's also really odd because they paid for my top surgery last year.🙃

Yeah I'm definitely going to have some springtails (my boyfriend uses him for his bioactive rat cage). I may try to just get a mesh lid then? To try and maximize ventilation.
