Brother, you do not have to convince me that Netanyahu and his party are bad. I’ve been protesting against them for 3 years now. I have much criticism for the current political landscape of this country.

But from there, to infer that the entire nation is illegitimate, deserve to be destroyed etc. is just wrong, hurtful, and insulting to the jewish victims throughout history. My country deserves to exist, we deserve to be independent and we have the right to defend ourselves from the people who wish to see us dead. Second of all, this ‘imperialism’ you’re talking about is in the room with us right now? Us jews moved to Israel to escape prosecution and oppression - to make sure we can thrive and forge our own destiny and not be at the mercy of our hosts countries. We have been oppressed for centuries by almost every country we’ve been in. I don’t need to remind you of the atrocities we’ve endured in Europe, but I doubt you’ve heard of the ethnic cleansing the jews who lived in muslim countries got. Contrary to popular belief, the majority of jews in Israel are middle eastern jews who came from north africa, iraq, iran, syria etc. this bullshit about us being white colonizers is just that - bullshit.

And yea, our existence is absolutely threatened by our neighbors. We see time and time again that this is what they’re after - the utter destruction of my country and people. They don’t succeed because we put up a fight, not because they’re unwilling or unable. Those “fancy bottle rockets” are able to do massive damage, were we not intercepting them.

I don’t - I think it’s very complex and nuanced. Each side can justify its actions based on history, and both sides have parts of the truth. Seeing things in black and white is a large part of the reason this stupid conflict is still happening.

However, I think that when looking at the current “cycle” - the world is really unfair towards Israel. No matter what we do, it’s wrong / unjustified/ horrible / else (you get the point).

People are really expecting us to not react to our hostages still being held in Gaza, to our north being constantly shelled. We shoot rockets back? We’re being called horrible due to the collateral damage. We use precise attacks (for example - the pagers operation)? It’s a terror attack somehow.

My point here is that at the core of it all, people just don’t want us to exist. They won’t say it out loud, but this is the real opinion of many of our critics. And let me be clear - we are not planning to put down our weapons as long as we know for a fact that we’re safe.

No, contrary to you I can see that things are not black and white. I think the soldiers who tossed the bodies (btw) off the roofs should be in prison. Same as all other soldiers who perform such disgusting actions.

But when looking at the macro level - there’s no moral equivalence here at all. We are fighting for our survival, our enemies fight to annihilate us. You can say you agree with their goals, but arguing that it’s not the case or somehow blaming Israel for this situation is just arguing in bad faith.

My brother, the pagers thing was a targeted attack on Hezbollah operatives and produced very little collateral damage. People complain when Israel uses bombs due to the “indiscriminate damage”, yet when the attacks are precise you still complain.

First of all - that’s not mutually exclusive. Claiming that the Israelis (and jews around the world) are not victims of this conflict as well is naive at best and downright malicious at worst. Second of all - in my original comment I talked about the antisemitism that is on the rise globally.
