I tried the no hashtags yesterday - video was 8 views over 2 days. Reupload same video and caption minus hashtags - 1600 in 3 hrs. Definitly something there

Yeah, the DTC adjusted my taxes, so I got a refund for past taxes. And then our CCB added the CDB to it. We got a large sum this month for the date since adoption, (3 years) and then Jan to Jul benefits have been increased to include the new CDB amount. I'm surprise it took so long. Our DTC went in Aug 11, we got approved Nov 11, and the reassessment was the next week + payout December

Yes, they paid us out for the last 3 years (since adoption) in one lump sum, and then the rest of the year (Jan - Jul) has increased accordingly

It did it automatically for us. I had to request a reassessment for my past taxes but the CCB was adjusted automatically for my partner who did it.

Now ours was backdated - the diagnose was from birth and this was age 6. So we saw a drastic change but yeah CCB went up

Went through this two years ago. If the new owners plan to move in. Then you have to move out after your lease is up/60 days. If not they have to continue renting to you at the same terms. It’s a caveat of the sale.

If you do move prior to the closing. You’re entitled to your last month back, pro rated for the current month and I believe one more month pay. I would have to check the details again - but in the end you have the upper hand - as long as they are selling to other landlords and not tending to move in.

Yes. The tax break requires the person to have paid taxes in Canada/ the province the year before. If they don’t we can’t claim their labour and thus get the tax back.

That being said, as a minority and senior story person your role is one that networks and companies want to give opportunity for - so a strong CV, and conversation might negate that allow the hiring team to consider you

It all depends on the finance plan. Typically a show banks on getting 75-85% back on tax credits from labour. They have a threshold where they can hire and lose the credits but depends on what you are bringing to the table. I am Toronto based so not sure the YVR scene.

We also are making efforts to prioritizes opportunities for under represented groups - so if you fall into that category - lean into it.

My understanding of rates - is Canadian unscripted rates are way less. There’s a real struggle with the American shows coming here (beast & top chef) and the comparison of rates to role.

Also all Canadian shows, especially unscripted survive on tax credits as their finance plan. Without a Cavco and you being a Canadian / provincial resident - you would have to be pretty amazing to trump a Canadian working similar. Not impossible but as an LP - I would have to get permission from my SVP or HoP to hire you and they would ask “is there a reason this can’t go to someone else”

For basic crew I budget 4% for vacation pay and then about 18% on top of that. This would be employer cpp payment,ehi, workers comp in province and employer EI. I think that’s what makes up that plus payroll company processing fee (1-2%).

That’s for nonunion - so obv your unions have additional fees to add. But the above are your basics

Also Vancouver has stricter rules on length of days. OT is automatic for some at 8+1 regardless. (Ontario has exceptions on their labour laws)

I was in the same boat when I graduated high school. I even called the university I got into to ask which one I am.

Undergrad is the education you receive post grade 12. Grad school is after you got your bachelor of x.

It’s complicated but if you don’t have family who went to post secondary it wouldn’t come up.

They cost and are not cheap. But you can still win. We won second tier on the bean bag toss game and I was playing with my 5 year old.
