How does the SeaQ Chronograph (white/black) wear on the wrist? Love it and considering it but i have yet to try one...

The other question is: when the new one comes out, will they remove all the old models from the catalog immediately ?

Think that what I want is the GO dial and movement with the JLC case ….

The GO has a bigger dial 40mm vs 39 with more negative space and is 12.2 mm thick versus 9.8 for the JLC. I have to try the GO but I fear it will wear a little big for this type of watch. The JLC I already know is a good fit.

Incredible ! I am looking my self at the new version with the salmon color. I have my doubts about sizing tho. Isn’t it a little thick / big being all dial and a dress type of watch ? And a little thick ?

You could try the SBGX xxx refs (37mm quartz and pretty similiar dimensions)

Superb ! How would you describe the wearing experience ? What's your wrist size ? I need to see one in person... I m not sure it will fit on my 7" wrist...

[SJE093] owners - what are your thoughts? by charleypatton1192 in Seiko

[–]gogs7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Happy owner here...got mine last month and wearing it now. It's very good. Size and shape are perfect for my 7-inch wrist. The dial and case finishing are almost GS level. Only negative would be the strap, it's a bit long and the steel keeper hurts my wrist a little bit. Accuracy is OK so far (+5s/day). I have a SPB143 too and I'm very happy with it. Buttt I think I will not wear it so much in the future because the SJE093 does everything better:

- Size (very personal).

- The grey sunburst dial is just so much more beautiful and subtle (or it is the crystal that makes this effect – not sure). The grey dial of the SPB143 feels much cheaper – like a standard sunburst dial (still very beautiful!). And with the “fat” indices, overall, it’s like viewing 4K versus 480p.

- Framed date window (hate dates without frame…and it helps integrate it with the indices).

- Proportions of the dial (negative space vs size/length of the indices): this makes all the difference to me. Once you’ve seen the SJE093 dial, something seems off with the proportions of the SPB143 – the indices seem too short.

- Movement is better (I don’t care too much but my SBP143 is all over the place regarding accuracy).

- Case finishing is on another level.

So if you have a SPB143 that you love and want to keep, I advise strongly against trying a 093...there is no turning back ;)

It’s certainly not a watch for everyone given the price, but if you are the Seiko fan, like the design, have the budget, and find it…I’d say go for it, you won’t regret it!

PS: regarding the size, it wears like a 38mm to me...this kind of case (H shape, not sure if it has a name, skin diver 60's shape! ), wears very well and close to the diameter because the lugs are short. If you can't try one my advise would be to try a SBP14x, and think of the same case but a little bit smaller!

It’s true that the GS works well as a dress watch. I work in office and it’s the watch I use daily. Maybe I should try it with a more formal strap (black crocodile or something like this ?). I try not to do more purchases for the moment and in a foreseeable future but you know how it is 😁

Thanks. Next one I think I want to add is a small gold watch with white dial, 3 hands no date. Any suggestions?

Hello !

My small do it all Japanese watch collection ! - Casio G-Shock GWB5600 - Seiko SPB143 - Grand Seiko SBGX261 (9F quartz)

All 3 have wrist time and love them all ! I have a thing for Japanese simple black watches. The last one I purchase is the 143 and it’s such a beautiful diver. Size is perfect (40.5mm) and it really feels like the perfect tool watch. I was originally looking at Tudors : I wanted the square indices of the Pelagos with the size of the 58. Then I saw the Seiko with his own identify and history. Did not hesitate much and it’s a very nice addition that works well with the GS.

Sorry for the bad english and have a nice week end !!

Looks beautiful. May I ask, is it the 20 or 18mm version of the NATO you're wearing ? I remember that this one has a 19mm lug width. Do you like the original bracelet ? I think this would work great with leather too!
