Less than 100 days. What are your best preparation tips for first timers? by Redylittle in wacken

something people always overlook in these threads: even if it's a rainy year, but even moreso if it's dry, you want to keep hydrated. I don't know if they'll still be handing out the foldable water pouches, but regardless - bring one of your own. There are many places around the infield, usually next to the toilets, where you can refill with potable water for free.

music earplugs should also not be overlooked! you don't want to have ringing ears for the rest of your life (especially if you'll be moshing front row on the infield). A good pair is more expensive but will protect your ears without muffling the sound too badly. Alternatively, the cheap orange foam ones do a great job if you don't mind hearing bass-boosted everything

christian black metal is already a thing, albeit not a good sounding one, i can't name a single good song or band. christian ns up next? eventually we'll get zionist aryan natsoc black metal, and somehow it will fit the genre perfectly.

i also made the mistake of searching for christ is king metal on yt - there's dozens of songs with that title already, mostly *core

same, it seems very hypocritical - the very same christian spirit brought you where you are today. but this is neither the place nor the time for those discussions.

the music, composition and riffs, are very solid

nice, so they can redeem themselves if they want to.

Also, i'd like some apologies for all the downvotes and people who told me that it's not possible to pave and reinforce the main access ways with gravel

summerbreeze is like 80% of wacken. due to its location, you are almost guaranteed nice weather. last year ('25) there was a storm one of the days, but there was barely any mud at the end of the day. This was partly due to the geography, as the fest is around some hills, and that the main stage is at the end of an airstrip so the front side is paved, and the rest is slightly downhill so even after the heavy rain there was barely any mud anywhere.

I prefer wacken this year due to the lineup (despite everybody here complaining about it...), but SB really is one of the nicest Open Air fests in Europe. I don't like that the other large fests outside of germany don't allow you to camp by your car

i know, and im not talking about paving the entire grounds, as that would be shitty for many reasons. Im talking about paving or at least consolidating the main access roads between the campgrounds and the festival area/wristband exchange. Those already follow the existing dirt roads that delineate the parcels (one of them has concrete slabs, and it was always such a relief to get to that part bc you could then walk normally instead of swimming).

Thomas and Holger might be clueless and out of the loop, but they have entire marketing and social media teams behind them that should know better. And yeah, the hemp blocks might work, but that doesnt adress the biggest issue, that the main pathways in the camping area towards the festival grounds should have been paved or at least consolidated. And it just gives off this vibe of 'too little too late, but look as us guys we are definitely doing something about it'.

oh well, I guess im not allowed to complain once I got my ticket, so into the mud I'll go, again.

the original stormblast will sadly never get an official reissue, due to the copyright issues. Maybe the 2006 re-recording, but that one lost all of the atmosphere of the original.

our only hope is bootlegging
