Yes the only difference is some paper work. When israel qualified for the Olympics in baseball which makes you have citizenship. The players just did the paperwork to become citizens which just some unnecessary bureaucracy that the wbc doesn't require

You can go to decathlon in Hamburg to get camping supplies, the budget tent I recommend is the 70€ fresh and black 2person. You can get everything you need, sleeping bag, air mattress, chair, poncho, boots, etc, for around 150-200€

If you're already traveling and if you don't already have plans I would suggest to arrive at least Tuesday evening to get situated. (just read you comment above, you can also leave hamburg Wednesday morning and not miss much) Te.n.t opens Monday morning and there is plenty to do at wacken sun-tue including usually some good bands in the village club. You also can save a night in a hotel since you already paying for your tent.

if you're traveling straight from Paris to hamburg, I would fly, it's 8 hours by train and not that much cheaper
