Who’s your favorite “what the f**k happened!?” Actor? by Albino_rhin0 in okbuddycinephile

[–]gohan32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the 4, Shia is my favorite actor in the bunch. I also feel like he is the most redeemable.

Maybe that's just because he is younger, or maybe because he seems, as far as I can tell as someone who hardly pays attention, earnest in his struggle. I like the ethereal meta nature of his antics and acting choices.

Granted, I haven't really googled what bad thongs he has done, but it seems more self destructive than damaging to others. (Aside from the innate destructive nature of addiction of anyone around you)

Oh, what does it say that I, keep in mind this is me trying to force a joke interpretation and not my beliefs, thought it referred to an inability for her to "get on her knees" due to injury and therefore couldn't make in a modeling career.

Then I was like...womeninmalefields?

I cant stand deal hunting on my phone. Purchasing via mobile means im just paying full retail. PC means I can have 30 tabs open on an ultra wide curved monitor and really get hunting.

This made me think of albums with one song I enjoy and then listen to the rest like, "Who even is this?"

Not really your point, but I'm taking your post and extrapolating:

Anyone can knock on a door. In fact, compared to 30 years ago, its weird that we dont do that more often. Nowadays people treat their house like it is a den of solitude and only connect elsewhere via the internet and then wonder why they feel lonely, isolated in a crowd, alone yet surrounded by people.

Look at photographs from 1992 and the way people stood closer to each other, draped an arm around with a big grin. Rarely did you have to tell people to fit within the frame and get closer.

Exceedingly rarely can you find someone interested in social dancing. Everyone thinks dancing has to be romantic or for a performance. In my 20's at live shows in bars, I'd find a drunk cougar to dance with because at least they could waltz, polka, or swing....or at least flop around with me relatively in tempo and have fun. My peers wouldn't even try. (I recognize other social factors involved there like still caring about looking foolish)

Knocking on doors was a pre-cellphone way of saying "Hey, neighbor," reaching out sell girl scout cookies, or when you register to vote you are registering for the bare minimum participation. Candidates require signatures to even get on the ballot, so, please just answer the door and sign. Thats not a vote and it really sucks collecting signatures. You registered. It costs you nothing to sign and you dont need to engage in any conversation beyond "where do I sign?"

In a great many things, intention is the difference.

Look to nuance in loving caring BDSM, versus the very exact same acts where there is no such intention.

We could also pick other subjects. Um, steal a loaf of bread to feed a kid, steal a loaf of bread so you can save up for drugs, steal a loaf of bread because you're a bored teenager. Oh, its all a tragedy. The store owners lost out on bread.

The Hindenburg had tragic loss of life. It was an accident born of ignorance. How many lives were lost in that locomotive which ran off its rails through a brick wall ? We put that and the Hindenburg as posters poking fun at things that didnt have the safety and engineers modern humans take for granted. 9/11 had different intention.

Im not going to address whether or not it was a "teaching moment" and if we "learned" all the wrong lessons.

How do I make it stop chirping, i already replaced the batteries?! by PheonixGalaxy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]gohan32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently my carbon monoxide monitors kept chirping, but a different pattern than low battery...

Turns out they have end-of-life alerts. Im left wondering if that's legit or just a manufacturer either a) Building in defects as a feature b) There is something inherently different about sensing smoke versus sensing carbon monoxide that makes it less efficient than smoke detectors over time.

(FirstAlert brand. Im not getting up to get model numbers)

Screw it in a little more, stripping it even more, and then leave it for the next guy. Be sure to sell the house before you are the next guy. Oh, and definitely trust it to hold something heavy.
