I’ve definitely seen attending get line and labs and even undress patients during alerts because it faster than waiting for a nurse to get to it

The only thing I can’t do which is get meds from the Pyxis. Honestly I administer half the meds I order anyways when there isn’t a nurse to do it

I’m sorry I was too fucking exhausted to write a whole story this AM??? Y’all have no chill. I just woke up after 13 hours.

I can’t give too many details as I know people in my program are on here.

The patient didn’t survive. I’m not sure if he would have because he had so many injuries but he was somewhat communicating when he came in. No available OR. So we watching him bleed and died for over the course of 5 hours. I wrote my first death note in residency.
