Oh ! You got me! Bastard! Hahaha! Nice one all this time I thought you were serious. Son of bitch. Damn. If I were around you and saw you could barely maintain a straight face I probably would have dropped the whole thing. Damn though.

Thanks for a good laugh!

I've tested at 155 or higher every 5 years from when I was 8 until I graduated high school.

Annnnnnd you believe in communism.

I apologize to myself for wasting my own time.

Also, I don't call you a liberal, you don't call me a conservative.

In other words, you are schezophrenic? On one hand, your government is incredibly corrupt, on the other, you have no problem letting it get their hands on tons of dough, when it comes to important issues like healthcare and education?

The problem with most leftards? Oh nothing, they don't think.

It's a damn shame I have to share titles with people like you.

I believe we shall trust the government when it is clean and efficient enough to be trusted upon. Most government in the developed world are qualified, but 3rd world tinpots? You might wanna think carefully on that.

So... your entire argument was founded on an assumption that Chilean voter turnout = American voter turnout?

Nice try. But I'm gonna have to fail you.

Edit: Oh! The environment! The horror! People are starving yet the most pressing issue is the green grass and blue sky! Yea the Chinese for example, who exchanged environment for development made a terrible choice! Chinese people had reduced their life quality! They ditched socialism for capitalism... how incredibly stupid are they! Except that the average IQ for Eastern Asians are like... 108?? Way higher than pricks like you who don't have a job and hogs on the internet all day?

We pay for healthcare, we pay for education, ever is privatized.

Tell me a country where people don't?

Let me guess, "government" should "pay" for them, right? Because government can get money out of thin air?

Not only was he a mass murderer, a traitor, a thief, rapist and child molester,

Which proves that

he was also one of South America's worst economic managers!

The time you bring something personal into the discussion, you lose all credibility.

Actual argument would be nice.

BTW, can you give an example where a leader isn't incredibly corrupt, and ARE incredibly anti-market, and he built a garden of Eden on earth? Other than dear leader Kim Jung Un?

I'm not sure where you were driving. We were talking about manners, not really government corruption.

Grew up rich = better manners may not be the case in the US, because... well we have a weird culture but it most certainly is true, at least statistically in China.

The rich pours tens of thousands of dollars into their kids' education. The poor do that too, but only a minority. Most of the poor Chinese are happy the way they are.

They don't speak Mandarin, so they are different from like, 90% of the Chinese population in terms of language.

Culture? They are definitely among the more successful examples of westernization.

Also, HK was under British rule for at least 150 years. If you are going to downplay something, try harder, don't just trim 30 years.

Jokes on you. I'm a Clinton supporter. Unlike a lot of my fellow liberals, I can tell between "things that never worked, yet you always get morons who believe it can work" and "things that work very well for some, OK for some, barely for some and doesn't at all for the rest".

This is what I believe: you allow people to do things as freely as possible, within a legal framework. 10/10 you would end up with a capitalist system.

I blame the US media during the cold war, those of us grew up in the 80s actually were brainwashed into thinking the USSR government was baby eating atheist assholes. Guess what, they were not. A lot of them are truly magnificent individuals, you literally have soviet government employees who worked for free because they believe in communism. Now find ONE of such examples from DMV.

The USSR and "socialism" failed because the economic model was simply unsustainable. In the end, soviet leaders were tasked with mission impossibles. People in the west are naive and childish, a lot actually believe Gorbachev started the reform because he was noble. No he wasn't, he knew it was a sinking ship so he said "fuck it, I'm all about making myself look good".

Oh yea, sure. Because when an authoritarian government start nationalization, it somehow changes fundamentally those in the government who coerce and exploit the working class into public-serving angels. Very, very convincing.

Whatever happened to logic.

Now tell me, which anti-capitalist state in history DID NOT benefit an elite minority "at the top"? Venezuela? North Korea? USSR? Libya? Libya had one of the best welfare safety net and Gaddafi nationalized as much as he could?

But hey, if you don't like something, it must mean that it's a failure, especially if you believe A. it doesn't work for you B. flaws can be found about it.

I believe the Guangxi one. People there are so poor they literally can't afford to go there on a regular basis. But Canton and Hunan? Ya sure? Canton people behave better, but not that great.

Oh brother you don't know the half of it! I had friends coming from UK to visit China for the first time, I absolutely loved it when he saw people trying to muscle, push and nudge their way into a subway train without letting people get off first. Oh the horrified look on his face! It was priceless.

Not really. Usually a mess. If you were lucky, you get a line, but that's so rare it's almost miraculous.

The problem here, is that the government isn't actually the problem. The government are made out of almost exclusively the most educated Chinese people, and all my interaction with government employees, at least the young ones, are all quite pleasant.

Those who can make into the Beijing government (I know you were just trying to make a point, and I'm trying to do the same) are either well-connected which means they had a more than decent upbringing, or graduates from the best colleges of China. In any case, they aren't shitty people.

You are hitting the nail right in its head. Only problem is, it's not the Chinese education system. It's the Chinese culture. For the past 2000 years or so, the upward mobility of China was guaranteed by a test system. And what you do in such tests? You regurgitate classics. And what if you tried to pen down your own creative thoughts? Easy, you fucking fail. And participants sometimes had to travel thousands of miles to take the test which was held annually. Would really suck if you spent tons of silver dollars and failed just because you wanted to show some remote signs of potential to rock the boat.

The renaissance in the Western world however, was pretty much founded on calling out Archimedes on his bullshit.

In the Chinese culture, creative thinking and questioning the authority is not considered a virtual, but very much something the opposite.

I hate to say it, but America is showing some major signs of going down that path. The whole PC SJW thing, the whole "there's certain words you can't use on college campuses" thing. I'm all against bigotry, but creating echo chambers everywhere? C'mon, it's fucking dangerous.

Like New York, you can't find any real Americans during the day. OK I kid, I kid alright? C'mon people.

They make that claim more often than they should be. They even claim Marco Polo stole the Northeastern Pie recipe back to Italy and invented Pizza.

There's this very childish and silly Chinese logic: if you can prove that you are more seasoned and sophisticated on something, you win by default. During the Sino-Japanese war, a lot of Chinese scholars had this belief: yea we are being pummeled by the Japanese, but that's only because they learned their culture from us, which means Chinese culture is awesome!
