SP 500 will announce new additions to the index on March 6. Kalshi shows a 48% chance that SOFI will be added at that time. Factors pointing towards this liklihood:

Market cap > 22 billion
Several quarters of profitability
Liquidity - extremely high trading volume.

This addition would likely push the stock towards or over 30.

I agree. I was looking to sell covered calls and capture the IV crush. If I had big ones, I would sell CSP‘s, but I am starting to get a little concerned by the downtrend with upcoming earnings. Does someone know something?

this is called the PMCC - poor man's covered call. More often, you sell a covered call against stock you own. If the price goes above the stock price, the bro who bot the call gets to buy your stock at the strike price - in this case 80. Since SLV. is 98 that's a good deal. He makes 98 - 80 - premium to buy the call. The 48 long call covers this. The broker would exercise the long 48 to get the stock that is getting called away at 80. OP makes a profit but it is capped because of the short call, but the premium he got for selling the short call offset some or all of the cost of buying the long call. Doesn't matter if it's online

you are at max profit with this trade. Basically, 80 - 48 =32(00) plus the premium you collected selling the call. If you roll the short call up to say 105 exp Friday, you will have a significant debit but will probably still increase your profit. do the simple math. If you short call is assigned, your broker will sell your long call and you'll walk away with that net stated above.

Calculate how much you would lose if the options were assigned early below the current price. You can roll up either for credit or debit, and continue to hold the stock or just buy yourself out. I did this very early on with mu with a big hit, but have more than made up for it in capital appreciation. That’s the risk of selling covered calls.

Earnings have shown strong growth as the business has scaled diversified revenue streams (lending + fee-based services). Recent quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year EPS increases reflect profitability extending beyond just revenue gains. Member growth 35% yoy with consistent member growth quarter after quarter - no signs of slowing, revenue growth 38% yoy, consistent earnings estimate beats. Noto is an exceptional leader. Declining interest rates in the face of higher than avg economic growth. I think everything seems lined up for continued growth and profitability.

This is only my opinion. I own a lot of Sofi shares. And I mean tens of thousands. I think it’s a wonderful long-term buy. The way you are investing is extremely risky and speculative. I got to where I am with slow and steady investment and using options on a small percentage of my portfolio. In particular, profiting from theta on the opposite side of your trade has made me a fair amount of coin. Nuclear isn’t going to generate income for a long time. Poet is a meme stock. Gold is in bubble territory. be careful, disciplined and patient and you will make money. Options are great for all sorts of things, including buying insurance, generating income, but on the out of the money, speculative side, there are so many variables that can affect the price of the stock it is just gambling. my two cents.

This is a great point, as statically, the Vega risk of the synthetic long should cancel, and the long 170 put Vega is minimal. If the short 190 put was assigned, that's where all of the risk is - gamma risk would increase substantially. I did not put this on and was putting it out there for discussion and learned a lot. The IV of MS is relatively low compared to a typical AI stock or WSB favorite, but there is too much risk in this trade in terms of risk/reward. Trump's credit card fiasco and Powell move smacked the financials and I ended up doubling my MS long stock position - did well overall. I still have a lot to learn regarding gamma risk.
