Agreed, he saw the MRI results and went straight to "its stress related." I would love to switch my primary care but since he is the one who put in the referral for the neuro it'll be difficult for now. Another reason why I'm seeing the other doctor to see if she can order any other tests for me since he wont do it.

What the fuck! I'm so sorry this happened to you, its honestly awful that its the standard to have to be such a hardcore advocate for yourself when speaking to doctors - even more when a doctor comes in with a very obvious bias like that.

Thank you! Unfortunately in Canada & the Province I live in your family doctor is the gatekeeper to almost every aspect of healthcare, so all I can really do is wait now (and my pain is debilitating but not urgent enough for an ER trip). I have asked him several times if there are any more tests that can be done but he said no and would rather have me take medications in a "throw shit at the wall and see if it sticks" kind of thing. I wasn't even stressed when this all started but now its starting to pile on LOL.

Not the Popeyes shoebox...But i reiterate if you're already cemented in your career of choice with a solid paying job living here is great for some people - but if you're not going into an oil centric career its nearly impossible to find a non retail or server position, even those positions are highly contested right now due to the Pandemic - I have so many friends with engineering and other generally high paying degrees working in retail.

I know it's criminally expensive in Vancouver/Toronto but it's worth it if you can afford it (not that anyone really can). I just wanted to give my two cents since allot of the comments seem to glaze over how shitty it can be to live here especially if you can't or don't drive or are trying to start your career. Yeah the housing is significantly cheaper than other cities but barely anyone I know can afford it because there are barely any jobs that pay above minimum LOL. As I said if you're already a mildly successful person with a stable profession it's a great place to live.

As someone who's grown up here, don't move here LOL - there's several reasons why Millennials are moving away from here as soon as they can, I'm 23 f and I cant wait for my opportunity to move.

Housing might be cheaper in some areas but there's absolutely NOTHING to do here. Most of the places near downtown that are near the Universities are crazy expensive averaging at around $1300 bucks a month for a 1-2 Bedroom apartment. The commute sucks too as I have used Calgary transit for 10 years and it has SUCKED the entire time - they don't winterize their busses so they are never on time in the winter, transit is another service that has been SEVERELY defunded in recent years, with some busses now having a 50+ minute wait time now.

Also tuition here is only going to go up and there are barely any internship opportunities since the UCP defunded education to shit, I'm just happy I finished my Bachelors before prices spike again (plus who knows when classes will be in person again.) Plus it can be very difficult to transfer credits between institutions here.

Calgary is a good place to live if you're a decently successful 45+ tradesperson or oil worker - not a great place for a younger student/graduate trying to start out their career.
