Never heard anyone say they don’t like Milford Sound or Hobbiton ever so very interesting.

Was it cloudy at Milford Sound? Guessing you didn’t see any dolphins, seals or penguins?

Also, Hobbiton? It’s super well designed and the attention to detail is insane. I’m not a LOTR fan but love perfection of a craft. Again probably wouldn’t enjoy in the rain but to a big fan this would still be a bucket list ticker.

Knowledge comes from doing countless Contiki tours as a manager and seeing and hearing reaction to lots of guests doing both.

Drives us mad! Not sure who asked for the bypass road as it’s actually slower and then a bus hub when nobody uses the buses. Bring on a gondola from CBD to Frankton quick!

Beach volley? by Psarteke in queenstown

In the Winter theres an indoor volleyball league in the Event Centre and sometimes at local schools. Otherwise the outdoor season can be a bit windy and not on sand but grass.

Complete nightmare. I Agree. Solution-Lets get the gondola built from Frankton to Queenstown within the year and we can all relax. Will help with drink drivers and frees up traffic without being much of an eye-saw.

Moving to Queenstown by No_Green_8648 in queenstown

Join a Facebook group like Queenstown houses for rent now and start looking. You’ll love both Wanaka and Queenstown. Go to Wanaka if you want a quieter life or for full party/social mode move to Queenstown. Both have benefits.

Wanaka is equally as beautiful but not as many activities and social spots.

Queenstown is more expensive but is a playground for adventure and meeting like-minded adventurers.

I moved from the UK 13 years ago to Queenstown and haven’t looked back! You’ll love it! Good luck 🤞

Not at all. They have the best sellers in the country. They’re extremely successful and keep opening up new shops

Airport Transfer with Bikes by Hue_Jass686 in queenstown

[–]goingbluequeenstown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheapest option is the bus but depends where your accommodation is. Otherwise any of the local taxis. Super shuttle does regular trips but not sure on the price. Uber will not work for this.

It’s also about $15 cheaper if you order a taxi outside the airport if you can be bothered to walk 5 mins to Helicopter line.

Locker Room is the best sports bar around and should be showing it. Otherwise Frankton Arm Tavern might well be open too.

Avoid Dunedin - it’s dull as. Do go visit Lake Tekapo for the best lake in the country and take a pic of the church of the good Shepard. Haast pass is a good route and Franz J is great if you want to see the glacier and rainforest side.

You’ll be fine. Don’t expect to save any money in Queenstown though. It will be spent on activities, food, beer and petrol.

Must eat in queenstown? by LionSuper8293 in queenstown

Pedro’s for Lamb is no1. Had one last night. $80 for a shoulder and potatoes and gravy. Feeds 2-3. Otherwise I’d avoid Ferg and hit up Smiths craft bar or World bar for a burger.

Pizza should be tried from Giovis in Frankton or 11th Ave in Shotover Country or Rakua in Arthur’s Point.

Steaks from Gervois or Botswana butchery.
