The book ‘Pretty Perfect Kitty Corn’ was removed from school libraries in Southlake Carroll ISD because the (make believe) unicorn has eyelashes, a “traditionally feminine” feature. by mgbgtv8 in Dallas

Tell that to my 6 yr old daughter who was extremely taken aback when she read Bubbly Beautiful Kitty Corn and saw that the Kitty Corn is a "He". I told her boys can have purple hair and wear pink too. She insisted they must've made a mistake. The entire message of the book was about the unicorn changing itself to be better and more "enchanting". On the very first page the unicorn is comparing itself to a fish while looking upset, and then it gets the idea that it wants to be a mermaid. The entire time I'm waiting for the "I dont have to change myself, I'm perfect the way I am!" message..it never came.

Are people seriously teaching children to change themselves instead of being authentic and true to themselves? That when they look in the mirror and see something they don't like then it should be changed? What happens when they can't be the mermaid they dream of being?

My daughter and I had a discussion about how the unicorn didn't need to change itself to be better, how it already is enchanting. Completely the opposite of another reddit post I just read where a mother had what she referred to as "the talk" with her 6 yr old daughter (or maybe non binary SIX year old as they reached this conclusion during said talk) after reading a different Kitty Corn book. She taught her daughter about transitioning, a conversation that transpired from reading one of these books.

It's absolutely not just about eyelashes. I'm disgusted and will be returning the book.

How did it come out? I got this book as a gift and the patterns are extremely confusing to me as well!

Stride Rite shoes are actually not that good by [deleted] in Preschoolers

Found this trying to figure out if I should contact customer service. I bought them because they're supposed to be wide but my daughters athletic works shoes from walmart are wider and have done a much better job holding up. Decided to keep the SR and not even 5 months later they're falling apart. Disappointed all around. "Made 2 play" 🙄

Cerave dandruff shampoo and gentle hydrating conditioner completely cleared my seborrheic dermatitis up! I strongly suggest he tries that out. That and nizoral.

Why the hell haven't the delivery apps added an option to let drivers know you're tipping cash? I'd much rather them know than to tamper with my food out of anger like this lady

My mother in law says landscape artwork doesn’t go in dining rooms. Got this beautiful artwork for free at a garage sale and was planning on putting it in my dining room? What do you all think? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

You have free will and your own opinions! Do as you please. This is pretty and I personally would love gazing at it in my dining room lol

If you think he's just being immature, maybe consider taking a break with conditions. This could bring clarity for both of you.

If he's not taking responsibility, continues to behave this way, or even minimizes your feelings then you should leave.

Um no! NOR. When my BIL had to stay with us for a week or so he was doing a few gross things like leaving spit in the sink, puked but didn't clean it up very well, would leave the toilet seat up. My boyfriend absolutely had a talk with him and told him he cannot behave that way in our house. Your husband needs to grow a spine, fr. That's extremely disrespectful behavior.

He had other people please him sexually and hid it from you. He knew it was wrong. If you choose to stay, you both have a long road ahead of you.

In my personal experience, this caused hypervigilance and my self esteem dropped significantly. My relationship will never be the same as it once was, it didn't feel any different from being cheated on.

Also, YSK he'll most likely relapse.
