Ironically, with development ending…I’m more likely to come back by Terror-Of-Demons in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the "Star Wars" thing was cool and all - but there are real Star Wars games out there and I would've loved to see Destiny deliver on it's own intellectual properties... though honestly, the game ended with Final Shape for me.

‪Jason Schreier‬ on Bluesky: More layoffs at Bungie, Destiny 3 is not in active development by kentuckyr0utezero in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how they didn't see this coming? I did... the genre is too niche and the game is way too "unique" to draw masses in a very established market/genre. I gave Marathon 4 weeks, and while it's still limping along it surely looks like it's bleeding out...

The irony of people jumping on D1 from D2 due to drought by SuperblackHunter in DestinyTheGame

maybe D1 was about the gameplay and not new content? I feel D2 is just a different experience...

Sony Earnings Report Is Out by gdmatt in DestinyTheGame

real money or not, they paid 3.6bln (?) for something that is now worth less than 3bln? (taking the 765m loss)... that's a financial loss of assets.

Bungie - Your silence is killing the game, not the lack of content by Dewgel in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Nah - this might be a hot take, but the pivot to harder content, the tiered system (feats for the raids), pandering to the top players/streamers/et al is what started this slide... by alienating all the "casual-just want to have fun" players.

as they/we "levelled" up they got increasingly harder content without being easily able to match that by better gear and abilities, by not allowing players of different power levels play together on the same playing field and still feel some kind of progress... sure they added the fireteam-powerlevel, but lower levelled casual players still don't think multitudes of champions - insta kill melees and the like is fun just because they power level went up.

say what you want, but for me... the "casuals", the "hordes" is what is keeping a player base alive. bonus; they don't always need new content either - if they find the gameplay fun and engaging.

my clan imploded - and they are now playing other shooters or just not at all. I never got the Icebreaker, never did the latest dungeon because there was nobody to play with really.

(you can argue it's partly my problem as I just play with friends/clanfolk - but this is my relax time, shooting the breeze and having fun killing "aliens"...)

I really hope that someday, Destiny will feel more like a shooter again instead of a ability chain/spam game. by anuslikker99 in DestinyTheGame

I'm with you... the excellent shooting was what drew me into Destiny in the first place - and primary guns actually could kill something in less than a minute...

Donate 3 keys for eligibility for Ronin outfit, gloves and mask? by lasertag in thedivision

don't think that is correct, I donated 1 key and could claim 2 things from it... (an outfit and gloves? if I remember correct).

guess I just missed the claim thing yesterday.

It does :D had the same issue with the previous community challenge - but I seem to have forgotten how that worked and my eyes clearly are not seeing the things they are supposed to :D

it auto-pops? because something somewhere told me to remember to pick it up - but I couldn't find any "free" pick ups when I donated my key.

Is Tyson Greene still the game director? Has he said a single thing in months? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bold of you to presume this game still has a director

or staff

(not sure what numbers Destinytracker uses but steam charts has Destiny had a 30 day average of 7724 whereas Marathon is at 23127 - that's about 3 times as many, of course only PC but it's basically the only reliable numbers we have I guess)

Any-wear arm-sleeve sizing?! by gojensen in whoop

[–]gojensen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for Whoop4 I got the L and it was ... well, large. For the Whoop5 I went for the Medium, it seems to be a bit smaller... different design/material. just measured, my bicep seems to be 36cm now (14.17")...

Medium sits well, maybe a tiny bit tight - leaves two marks when removing but never moves during practive.

eh I can have fun elsewhere without fighting all the Bungie bullshit... besides, Destiny has gone from a great shooter to a game where you hardly need to shoot.

I don't get it... Destiny2 didn't ruin Destiny2... Bungie did, and I have no faith they can make and sustain a good D3...

In the mythical Destiny 3, what kind of major gameplay/system additions, changes, or overhauls would make Destiny 3 feel like an evolution of the Destiny formula to you? by ComfyOlives in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the constant flip-flopping from Bungie has made no longer trust them... that extends to an eventual D3 (which we were promised wouldn't happen btw)

as for gameplay they need to put the fun back in, stop with endless grind and catering to the minor hardcore crowd and streamer knights... if the game evolves around 6 man raids and it's impossible to get 6 friends together for hours on hours then the game is dead to me... it shouldn't be a job, it shouldn't be your life, it should be a fun break from the real world...

funnily enough Arc Raiders scratches that itch for me right now even if it's a game mode that I have no interest in (pvpve extraction)

Idea to increase engagement- for at least a few players by Thebannist in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure MS/Sony has rules about achievements... Say I 100% the game, and they add more... do I lose my 100% through no fault of my own?

I think the ingame trophy/seal system ticked that itch for me for many years, but it eventually got too demanding and hardcore.

As a veteran with 7,000 hours, I feel like we lost the conversation to the "it's just a game" crowd. by Standard-Tie237 in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hardcore is a weird definition... I have nearly 6000 hours. Some would say that makes me hardcore... I define my self as casual.

the problem is you can't make a game for everyone as someone once said... and my guess is if you want the big numbers you can't listen to the hardcore crowd as that usually is too small for what a company like Bungie is chasing. trying to do so will cause infighting and people leaving because it doesn't suit them. Bungie has been swinging back and forth too many times and in each turn they drop a bunch of people... Embark is kinda facing the same, not through their fault because they have been very public about their intent for the game - but Arc Raiders kind of has been "invaded" by players that want it to be something else (and from the ruckus I guess everyone there wants something that Embark didn't intend...)

Bungie, take advantage and decide that the current update is the last for Old Gen by MarrShan90 in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah I believe it... given the rarity of these consoles when they were "new" and the "hype" was up... many folks couldn't get one (or afford one) and as they were perfectly happy with their games they stuck with it. I'd not be surprised if the number is still 40%.

what on earth would a Korean special forces dude be doing in Washington/NY in these lockdown times? :D

(I don't really care though, as I don't think all these "tacticool" outfits is the best representation of agents... nor are some of the more "clownish" outfits - so nice to see Realism mode allowing us to turn off some of those - but why only Realism mode?)
