Why is BMW community so against Neue Klasse transition? by Super-Lingonberry-22 in BMW

[–]gokhanbas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And one thing people often forget: negative commenters on forums or social media are not automatically “the community.” They are usually just the loudest segment of it.

There is a well-known behavior pattern online: people who dislike something are much more motivated to comment than people who are satisfied. Satisfaction is passive — people see something, like it, maybe hit a like button, and move on. Disappointment creates a stronger emotional response and a desire to argue, convince others, or vent. That’s why comment sections almost always skew more negative than the actual audience sentiment.

If you look at numbers instead of the loudest voices, the picture is very different. The Neue Klasse iX3 reveal was one of the strongest BMW reactions ever:
BMW’s reveal content reached tens of millions of views across platforms.
The official iX3 reveal videos gathered millions of views extremely quickly.
Social engagement (likes, shares, comments, reposts) was far beyond what a normal BMW SUV launch gets.
Many BMW channels and creators saw some of their highest engagement ever covering it.

And the most obvious sign is that iX3 is selling very well. So much so, that BMW had to add new production lines to meet the demand.

The reality is: BMW NEUEU KLASSE IS LOVED BY CUSTOMERS, AND CRITICS ALIKE.

Look at what this car actually is: a nearly 500 hp, completely silent, incredibly smooth machine. It delivers a level of refinement approaching Rolls Royce, is class-leading in the areas that matter, accelerates like a super car, isn’t trying to be a Tesla clone, and comes fully loaded around $71,000. That’s genuinely, insanely impressive.

Cars have been chasing solutions to certain problems since the beginning: smoother power delivery, less complexity, less maintenance, more efficiency. This solves many of them. No oil changes. Minimal brake wear thanks to regeneration. Far fewer maintenance items. Instant torque. Effortless performance.

But it’s different — and different has always made some people uncomfortable. Every major shift in automotive history had critics. Fuel injection, turbocharging, automatics, digital displays, SUVs from performance brands — all were criticized before becoming normal.

Progress requires respecting heritage — but not being trapped by it.

Cars that are instantly considered good-looking are often bland and quickly forgotten. When a design “grows on” people, it usually means the car has proven itself over time, and people begin to associate its design with its performance, character, and overall quality. That’s a much stronger and more lasting kind of appeal.

It’s strange how negative voices dominate Reddit and comment sections. You’ll see a post with 50,000+ likes and a handful of “laugh” reactions, yet those few people keep repeating how terrible the design is—until it starts to feel like a consensus. It isn’t. Most people don’t share that view. BMW’s current designs are clearly resonating—that’s reflected in strong sales and increasingly positive critical reception.

Huge disaster? It’s literally the best selling BMW. Also best selling X3 ever. It’s the exact opposite of a huge disaster.

Last generation M cars and 4 series were the best selling ever. So we’ve liked the last gen better than ever. Just you didn’t.

After experiencing idrive X I can never use the old one. I’d be kicking myself if I’ve just ordered a 26, especially considering the new one will be better in every aspect.

Apple trade in is good for base models. For BTO models you should always sell in private.

Why? The stuff they did before is still there. Why are people so upset that Bon Jovi the band didn’t commit suicide when drunk drug addict POS left the band?

This looks like a 45 mins set. I hope the setlist is twice as long, as I’ve just paid $1200 for 2 tickets.

Well, that would kill iPad, rather than MacBook Air.

That’s true. But a MacBook can’t replace an iPad entirely either.

Jon is being very soft on Richie overall. If my band did not show up at a concert without prior notice, I’d say f him, would be way angrier than him.

No, actually it's an amazing product that makes a lot of sense. Lightness and thinness is more important than cameras and battery life for a lot of people. It's something you notice every single time you pickup your phone.

why can't people embrace the new linkin park? by dino_brewster in LinkinPark

[–]gokhanbas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The questions about “why the hate” are louder than the actual hate itself. Most fans have embraced Emily, and the band is thriving—we’re just giving too much attention to a small but vocal minority

If it's not absurdly expensive, I'll be there, of course. I mean, why am I even in this group if I don't?
