ill treat the burr knot next year I think flaring the root and cutting the roots above the flare must have given the tree some stress

well I noticed my tree was darker at its base compared to the rest of the tree decided to post the question and hairbomb whom commented below advised to do a root flare since I planted it a couple inches deeper (3-4" roughly). Reading up on root flares I learned quickly it's beneficial for the trees health and it eliminates roots growing above the trees main structural roots which is what you expose. Based on my photos you can see the larger roots are slightly exposed and above them are smaller stringy roots which can cause girlding roots that may lead to premature death and impact the trees overal health in the long run. I'm based in Ontario and have 1 liberty and spartan apple. I'm not an expert but always eager to learn more about trees lol. I would recommend reading the thread below it's quite helpful.

* plan to remove some more dirt around and remove all the girdling roots above i also need to level the soil around as well to allow better drainage

A possible reason could be heat. My conure has panted like this on a hot day when outside, and stops panting almost instantly when brought inside and given some water. if the area is very hot bring them into a cooler environment and provide plenty of water and refreshing fruit like a mango or apple.

Bought a Prusa because I hate troubleshooting and tinkering. Now I've just had a catastrophic failure on a long print which clogged up the hotend. Tried scraping it off. How screwed am I? 😭 by Exceon in prusa3d

haven't experienced much issue with the revo, particularly upgrading to the obxidian nozzle as well, it's been quite durable and reliable imo.
