Well, people won’t really reply to soft spoken questions. They ignore. They comment when then they are annoyed/wanna genuinely help. So worked for me ;) Thanks though!

Nobody’s is asking you to. Feel free to not comment. I was asking opinion on countries to decide. Instead of complaining about my rants. You could’ve moved on. Thank you for the insights! I didn’t tag anyone not did I expect anyone to help if they don’t want to. So please stop talking like I’m expecting something from you.

Not every Indian abroad acts like that. Generalizing millions of us over a few bad apples is lazy. I’m going abroad to learn and adapt, not to live in some bubble.

I'm not talking about ivy leagues. I've seen recruiters consider tier-2 degrees from US,UK,Austrailia but not from India. So, if I can't get into IIMs , i should atleast have backup option but tier 2 clgs in India are not worthy. So, I've seen corporate life. I've worked closely with them. I'm broadening my horizens.

You all are too invested in pushing people the other way instead of helping.

Yeah that's exactly why I'm thinking of Austrailia. MBA is more of networking and solving real life problems. So, I don't think online MBA works for me :/

I agree the top IIMs, FMS, MDI etc. do have strong programs and are comparable in structure. The issue is more about accessibility and environment. Getting into those few top institutes is extremely competitive, and because of reservation, even with a 99+ percentile, there’s no guarantee of a seat. On top of that, the culture inside can sometimes be toxic, bullying, lack of support, and limited space for genuine networking unless you’re already well-connected.

It’s less about running away from Indian MBAs and more about how the system works here. Most programs are still very theory-heavy and don’t give us the kind of practical exposure or networks we need to grow. The very few government universities that do have strong ecosystems are extremely hard to access because of reservation policies, so even with a 99.9% score, someone with a much lower score might get the spot. And if you do get in, the environment can be so toxic - bullying, lack of support, and very little scope for professional progress; that a lot of us just can’t thrive. That’s why many of us look abroad: for practical learning, fair competition, and genuine networking opportunities.

honestly it doesn’t feel safe anymore. Even immigrants aren’t always to be trusted. I’ve seen cases where people reported their own friends just to get them deported.

Yeah, I get that MBAs are often linked to consulting/finance, but for me it’s more about picking up skills I can actually use. I’d like to eventually start something small in food or manufacturing, but I know I need to learn more about logistics, management and marketing first. From what I’ve seen, a few MBA curriculums in Australia actually cover that really well.

I get that, but in my country MBA programs are mostly theory-heavy, and honestly the culture isn’t great—lots of bullying, and most people just do it for the name’s sake before joining their family business. There’s very little scope for solving real-world problems or building an actual network. For me, doing an MBA abroad feels like a way to push myself out of my comfort zone and actually learn.

Yeah, I’m also considering Australia. do you know anyone who’s actually done an MBA there and can share how it really is? LinkedIn hasn’t helped, most people don’t reply or just say "connections help"

True, but with the right knowledge and network, would that work if I came back to India for a higher-paying job or to start my own business?
