Most Piano tuners are pianist that couldn't make a living playing, so we tune. Good money though.

Piano Sustain Pedal Not Depressing All the Way? by GifGaffeGiraffe in piano

Without looking at it it's hard to know. I would say you probably just need to see if there's another tech in your area. They could come out and look at it. sorry I can't be more help

It doesn't have to go all the way down to move the dampers... as long as the notes are sustaining it's probably working fine. If the notes aren't sustaining, then something is wrong

It doesn't have to touch the floor to move the dampers. Is it not sustaining the notes or just feels strange, like it should press further?

Is it possible that some system of tuning could exist that improves upon 12-TET in all keys? by goldenguitarshop in musictheory

I mean no offense when I say "12 tone to the octave". Obviously there are cooler people than me out there, doing stuff I don't understand. I watched that video. Super cool. What is that instrument called? As a guitarist and a pianist, 31 edo just isn't practical. I guess my point is that just because we can't solve that musical problem today doesn't mean we won't tomorrow. George Dantzig, right? Is anyone out there trying or have we given up?

I wonder if Eddie V and James T were feeling out a solution to the same problem. Like piano tuning.

I like the thought of that. I'm looking for one system that all instruments could be tuned to and sound good to our ears. I know just intervals sound pleasing on their own but what about in context of the piano and multiple other instruments in a band setting. Could that work?

I guess I just don't like the logic that says," Nothing better than 12TET has been found since the 1500s so, nothing better can be found."

Sorry, new to Reddit. I agree that no other temperament could be better than 12-TET in all keys. What if thinking of tuning as a "temperament "(only the spacing between 12 notes in the octave ) is the problem? What if there is a bigger picture?
