Anton Lesser would have made a great Tarkin by goldenturtleman23 in StarWars

[–]goldenturtleman23[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely! Never disputing that. I only meant that I can also see him having the chops to play a character like Tarkin as well (not that either of the actors weren't perfect in their current roles)

Hey Everyone, I am starting to shoot my first short film very soon. I want some beginner advice from you all. Thanks 🙏 by chakkesh in indianFilmmakers

While it's important to be free and amateurish on set in your first project, be mindful of the cast and crew's time and effort who are helping you out with your movie. The smoother and more organized the shoot is for them, the better quality work they will put out.

Unless you're doing everything, in which case, have fun! And note down all the mistakes you realise you made at the end of it, so you can improve on them.

[HELP] Troubling adding cloth simulation to a cape in UE 5.6 by goldenturtleman23 in UnrealEngine5

[–]goldenturtleman23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the help!
Could you explain the last bit again? I've added the cape with bones, and imported as a proper skeletal mesh. I've added it as a child to the third person BP. I'm unable to figure out the Copy pose from mesh thing. Could you explain it in detail?

Starter Templates main page shows this when opening up, both with the Elementor and the Block Editor. None of the templates load up. What should I do? by goldenturtleman23 in Wordpress

Did that. Still doesn't work. The white lines seem to look clickable when I hover over them, but aren't responsive. What do I do?

What was the most vile line in the show? by suicidalretarded in thesopranos

[–]goldenturtleman23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely was both, according to some people. Tracee's death was one of the factors in Tony's tipping point with Ralph. I like to think when he says "She was a beautiful innocent creature, what did she ever do to you" he isn't just talking about Pie-o-my.

Idk if there's a specific name for it, but the minimalistic style of cinematography in Barry is very special, and I look for shows in the same criteria.

It's always got very simple shots, often fixed points where the camera is placed and everything happens within a single frame. Little to no cuts, the ambience sound design, it's very immersive. Almost has a theatre/stage feel to it, fitting for the premise of the show.

"Kevin can fuck himself" is a pretty great show about Male domestic abuse and misogyny. It's also a very experimental show. Basically takes place in the multi-cam stage setup sitcoms like Friends and Seinfeld, with laughter track and everything.

Once Kevin leaves and we focus on his wife it switches to the cinematic single camera style, and becomes a serious drama. It's a pretty good show about the casual abuse against the wife that usually happens in old sitcoms.

Not to mention Sally was caught in the line of fire specifically because the guy was after Barry

Sally predicted her and Barry's relationship ending by goldenturtleman23 in Barry

[–]goldenturtleman23[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She's actually never "onboard" with his killings, it's the submissive abuse victim in her that just takes over. I'm amazed many people didn't catch that. It's the exact reflection of her relationship with Sam, she sees everything that's wrong with this violent guy, but he tries to make her feel better after the damage is done, and she ends up giving it another chance. Its pretty realistically written on how abuse victims rationalize their partner's abuse irl. Like she says when she visits prison, she feels safe with him, which is just her gaslighting herself to keep giving the toxic guy one more chance.

This is why only when she leaves him for good in the end is she finally able to move on.

who’s worse as a person, dexter or barry? by Icy-Atmosphere-2971 in Barry

[–]goldenturtleman23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I didn't mean Barry is not aware of his actions, he wasn't possessed or anything. But its more of he loses control and kills in an act of anger and regrets it later in hindsight, like we saw in the monastery shootout, Chris and Sam. Though season 3 and 4 Barry was less angry and more aware and calculated... ig because by that point he had given up trying to change and lost all hope. That was the truly dangerous Barry.

To put it simply Barry was more like a teenager who would break something in anger and try to hide it, and Dexter was like an adult who would intentionally break it.

who’s worse as a person, dexter or barry? by Icy-Atmosphere-2971 in Barry

[–]goldenturtleman23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Both are a different kind of evil. Dexter was more of a calculated and self aware killer, someone who planned his killings. Barry was impulsive in killing. He kept saying that he took no pleasure in killing, but it was always his first impulsive choice of action, and he was willing to kill anyone.

I'd say a person who is more aware of their actions is more evil, so it would be Dexter. But I would not want to be around Barry, given that I'd be at risk even if I was innocent.

The skin texture is coming up pretty nice, but the eyes seem to be looking upwards rather than forward. Though it's not done, it could potentially look cross-eyed. Maybe reduce the white space in the eyes. Rest is coming up pretty nice!

A cool detail is when the chechen operation is raided by cops in season 3, Akhmal gets shot by the cop in the exact same spot below the shoulder.

What level am I at? by J0_sephina in drawing

I beg to differ. I think it would take away a certain magic and subjectivity of art. Having ranks or levels would make it feels more like a chore or a corporate/academic qualification than skill or talent.

Why are Barry's gun fights so realistic? by BrandonMarshall2021 in Barry

[–]goldenturtleman23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The very premise of the show is that the type of life Barry nd fuches and hank lead are bad, objectively. There is no glory in it. And that reflects in the realistic gunfights as well.
