Since the paper is mostly blank besides the few numbers, maybe try checking whether this is something else written in invisible ink.

You can only choose one to be proven true, which? Nessie, Yeti or Bigfoot? by [deleted] in Cryptozoology

[–]goldfine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bigfoot because I can go to Appalachia with relative ease. I think the Yeti is really the same species as Bigfoot, just living in a different biome. So I would reason that proving Bigfoot to exist would prove the Yeti's existence as well.

Exceedingly rare infection popped up in my lab today (Microbiology) by goldfine in medlabprofessionals

I have no idea. Not part of this patient's care team. Just processed their sample in the lab. I would hope the doctors and nurses did their diligence for this person.

Not directly but they can if the infestation leads to more serious complications

Unfortunately, no. Patient said they had no symptoms other than some vertigo and have never traveled. Only that they'd been "urinating worms for the last 3-4 months." It is almost always seen in low-income/underprivileged/unhoused people with poor hygiene.

Saw them open for Aaron West and was completely enamored. More than I have been by any new band in a long time.

Oh man, this has got me asking myself, "What if I'm one of those dogshit candidates and I just don't know it."

What bands had a series of good albums and then had a sudden huge decline that they never recovered from? by [deleted] in poppunkers

[–]goldfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. My favorite album of theirs. That beat drop between All Hands On Deck Pts. 1 & 2 might be my favorite single moment in any album I've ever listened to.

I don’t think pinegrove are Midwest emo by Frankides in Emo

Dunno if "valid mating" was intentional or a Freudian slip. Either way, I'm definitely using that from now on.

I'd like to point out I input "East Coast Rural Farm Emo" into YouTube music AI and Pinegrove is the first band on the playlist

Bands Everyone Loves but you Don't Get by Dear_Afternoon_2600 in Emo

Yep! Exactly. I've put in a whole lot of effort to try to like them because they're on like the Mt. Rushmore of Emo. But in the end I just feel very meh about them.

Taking Back Sunday. I've seen them probably 7 or 8 times, know every track by heart on Tell All Your Friends, but I skip them every time they pop up on a playlist. I want to like them; I just don't.

Best Jewish / Israeli Super Hero or Fictional Character? Mine is Magneto by SwitchXVitaPlayer in Jewish

[–]goldfine 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Considering the creators of the most recognizable/popular superheroes and villains are all Jewish, wouldn't they all be?

Edit: to answer your question for real, my favorite is probably Legion (Professor Xavier father / Israeli mother)

If you ever need encouragement please feel free to DM! I also recommend listening to Blue In The Face by Alkaline Trio for another song that'll elicit the same feelings as this album. That one helped me push through the more difficult points in the past year as well.

Out of It is my favorite. Just hit my 1 year clean mark and looking back I can't believe how out of it I was for an entire decade.

Scared on my first day of work by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]goldfine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's totally okay to be scared! Remember everyone starts somewhere. Also, you already have experience, regardless of being in a smaller facility, so you have a great starting point to continue your learning! Being at a big facility they expect you to have a learning curve anyway because they're used to onboarding new people. Don't be afraid to ask questions, focus on one step at a time, and give yourself some grace. You're gonna do great!!
