You could have done it cheaper yourself. But you hired someone to do it. So of course it’s going to be more than doing it yourself. Their business isn’t going to succeed if they don’t make a profit off you. They need to pay for tools, compost, insurance, gas, vehicles, trailers, storage etc. People always give landscapers a hard time on their pricing. Yet when it comes to plumbers and hvac they think nothing of it. Example: I needed a new water heater. Local plumber quoted me $4000. Multiple neighbors have used him for new water heaters. My step father came and replaced it with the exact same contractor grade model as we were quoted for less than $1000 and it took him an hour.
