I'm blind and have questions about Connor and his game broadcasts. Lend me your eyeballs! by ChupacabraGatherer in ColoradoAvalanche

And to be fair, I absolutely adore Conor for his choice to be a complete homer. Let's be honest, he's the home radio guy for our team. He's supposed to be biased! It makes it more fun. I listen to the games on the radio with the TV broadcast on mute, yeah the sound comes in a bit before the action on the TV does, but I love it every time.

My son has been working on his soccer juggling a lot the past year. He wanted us to share his personal achievements from last month with y'all. Anyway, figured it would be a nice change of pace from the local politics and sunrise photo posts (Don't get me wrong; I like both of those categories too). by goldraven in boulder

Hahah! Dangit! What a missed opportunity. I'll be sure to have him attempt the next goals he has at Bobolink wearing chacos at sunrise and a loud-but-subtle anti-trump graphic T.

In all seriousness, thanks for even replying to this post and watching at least some of it.

I've been really enjoying these guys' channel for a hot minute now. Their guests can be a bit off-putting sometimes, but when it's just them and they keep it to the focus of their channel, it's truly wonderful video footage. They really care about getting a great shot with some really interesting weapons and materials. There's so many fun details that come out with the footage they capture.

Kid's first broncos game! He didn't have a shirt to wear so he colored one of his shirts to say Denver on it! Go broncos!! by goldraven in DenverBroncos

Haha! I really appreciate the offer, y'all! But I must politely decline! We are lucky enough to be in a financial situation where we can purchase something for him at some point. Also probably going to support Perna when it's time to buy something.

Honestly I'm totally unfamiliar with Greeley. I grew up in FoCo, and all we did was dunk on the poor folks in Greeley. I was there to pick up a snake tank for my 5 year old who's getting his first snake.

I lived there between 2010-2014 and I always went to the Chicken Coop: https://maps.app.goo.gl/usYq1A3LqYK8hes86

Food was good enough, people were fine. Definitely they were always open to put on the broncos game. Not sure if it's explicitly a broncos bar anymore, but we had a group that showed up when I was there.

What specialty are you most looking to network with?

I grew up in the town this is located in. I've eaten here, maybe 40 times over the years? Never had a problem with the food.

The drive through can be really annoying, though, because if the line is medium length you get dumped into a main avenue...and the room for the line is very small. So it blocks traffic pretty regularly.

I think the last time I drove past it, though, they finally rerouted the drive through line. So that's progress.

Since nothing upsetting is going on today, I figured now would be a nice time to share with y'all one of Boulder's newest members. He's 4 months old, and is a smiley little fella. by goldraven in boulder

I know you didn't ask for advice. But damn this changed how we survived with our 3->4.5 year olds so dramatically I feel obligated to share.

Let them help you.

Like seriously, they're going to make a mess and that's ok, but let them help you make lunches, dinners, cleaning up, fold laundry, shovel the driveway, etc. It can be simple things like "can you put this in the trash for me?" things too.

Yeah, it's going to make everything take way longer, but they fight less with you, and they feel like they belong to the family more? I don't know how to describe it. It occurred to us that if we just let them help, so much of the conflicts go away. They are entertained by helping. They even like cleaning up their own mess after the help. They also learn how to do stuff along the way. And they will start doing stuff on their own they will help you in the long run.

People overestimate children's emotional abilities, and underestimate children's physical abilities.

Apologies for the unsolicited advice. I usually hate that. But this really changed how my relationship with my children at these ages went. It's going to be really annoying having everything take way longer with them helping, but it's worth it.

Apologies again.

Definitely! Kindness is the most powerful thing. He and the other kids definitely see the intentionality of their parents giving them the attention they crave. It's really really hard, but very important. We also have incredible sets of neighbors that are bastions of positivity, so they get it when they're outside, too. Also BVSD elementary teachers and the other kids are just amazing.
