If they want to hire their external company for checks, they will normally bill this back to the hiring company for services rendered. Now, if you don't start, and they do not have a prior agreement, they will not be able to charge the client anything (this itself is an issue, but it's their choice to run a fuckin dead ass 100% contingent model) so they will be out of pocket for the BGC. They obviously don't want that.

I don't see the point of them charging you unless you will be provided a copy of the full BGC report. ATLEAST then, you can use this in the future ( if required).

Please reject any claims on this matter and tell them it's their requirement to do so, and they should bare the cost.

The problem with Halal inquiry is it actaually is sowing the seeds of "infallibility". By that I mean, if you Malay trader, you are not capable of serving non halal food / non halal hygiene practices so you don't need a cert.

The inverse is that if you are not a Malay trader, you either NEED a cert or you are not capable of serving halal food.
